We have access to dealer service manuals and one other form of high level tech troubleshooting.

Yeah, I think we are covered as far as information resources. Although, anything will help Tim.

I think the popo know whats going on due to the fact that last summer they got lots of calls on street racing. Even confronted us about it.

I agree with what Tim said, Steve. When you check the various tire sites and wheel sites, they have listed the sizes that will fit and the recommended sizes...

For the 7.5 wheel a 225/45 is recommended as the "standard" size. That's what I have on my new wheels, and they look great. Not sticking out like the 225/40's on my OEM wheels.

Yeah, but they did say they didn't care all that much since nothing bad has happened. But since the accident further down 30 last summer, they probably are not going to chance it this time. Just means you guys can go to PRP more, lol.

I think you are right. There was 1 last summer, another in the fall and another just a few weeks ago. Those were all major accidents within the same 5-7 mile stretch of Rt. 30. I dont think they would bust any of us at PB's but i bet they give us a warning and then keep an eye on the area.

Car is finally fixed, so I'm ready for some racing again! I haven't driven it in a couple weeks because of a gear oil leak...turns out it was a broken o-ring at the crank sensor...not very cool for the tranny to be leaking oil!

I'll be back on the dyno this week running a bigger meth nozzle and then I should be good to go!

Anyone going to North Park tomorrow? I'm about 70% sure I'm going so let me know if anyone else is and want to meet to ride up.

Keep me in the loop!

Glad to hear the car is fixed Denny. I was planning on going up to North Park tomorrow, but then I got into the motorcycle safety course for this weekend... so I'll be doing that tomorrow.

Speaking of... that class was fun today. 5 full hours of motorcycle riding/training... even in the rain. I did well for my first time ever... and I definitely improved throughout the day. They go slow at first, then really throw some crazy stuff at you (crazy if you've never ridden before, like me). It's great though. I can't wait to get out there tomorrow for some more riding. Hopefully I'll pass the test tomorrow too and get my class M.

Dude I couldn't even make it through sitting in that classroom! Most of the people in there were IDIOTS! LOL I got up at break, left, and never made it to the road course! Just taught myself to ride by driving around the neighborhood HAHAHA That probably explains why I got rid of my bike

Well the next Auto-x you go to let me know and we can head out together.

Haha... yeah there are some "less than smart" people in this class. It's cool though. The classroom portion was common sense. The riding portion is actually pretty cool. It's very helpful for total noobs like myself. It has me really excited to go buy a bike now.

Count me in for the next autocross. I need some wheel-time.

No can do tomorrow. Wes needs the car to get to and from work, plus it's supposed to rain ALL DAY. I just don't feel like dealing with it. Add to that mix someone procrastinated on doing her taxes plus I leave at 6am Wednesday for Seattle, so I need to get **** packed and drop my mutt off at my grandparents to dog sit for me.

Denny, are you doing any track days this year up at BeaveRun?

Yeah looking at the weather my 70% is waining to about 10% LOL

I really, really want to do a BR day...Not sure when, but I definitely want to. My concern would be how long does it take to make it around the track? I have a 1 gallon meth tank and I'm not sure yet how long that lasts and may need to find something bigger. That, and I need to line up an extra set of tires, brake pads, and get some SS brake lines - I've heard BR is killer on brakes.

Yeah, BR kills brakes. On a good day if you're in a group (usually 2 by the end of the day or group 3 all day) that runs at-speed up there you've got a good 140mph-60mph stop EVERY lap. Come the 2nd or 3rd session people start having run-ins with the grass. If you can do the SS lines and swap to a synthetic brake fluid, do it. I've boiled DOT3 and DOT4 organic fluid both. Tires not so much, if you drive a good line and drive smart, you won't abuse the tires nearly as much as you think you would.

It takes less than a minute twenty to get around once you get up to speed. For the whole day you're on the track about an hour to an hour and a half and according to my trip-o one track day is about a hundred miles total. But you're only out in 20-25 minute increments.
