The 6.1 is going to be offered in the regular one, but the 6.4 will be in the "super sport" challenger. I figured the Challenger is on the same platform as the SRT-8 so that it would have similar weight "4,000lbs". The Camaro weight was just an assumption because it is using the zeta platform , the same as the commodore, and that weighs around 3800lbs and it will more than likely have the ls3 out of the 08 vette that puts out 430hp since the ls2 is dead.

The last is very impressive, but I dont see them selling that for the 30k that the price has been rumored to be, or having that traction setup. I could see them charging 30k for one with a 6.1 in it however.
And it looks like the Super sport and GT500 may have a rival after all

"The other reason the motorheads at GMPP built this beast is because the coming '09 Camaro will probably have an SS edition available, which will be powered by this same engine right off the showroom floor."
The final Camaro engines are purely speculation at this point, supercharged or LS7 either way im not sure I see it happening but who knows, GM is going to need a car to compete with the GT500 and Challenger Super Sport.
Everyone has their own opinions and thats how it should be, those are mine judging by the facts I have been reading these past two months.

I am going camaro, but if a 500hp one comes out there is no way im going to be able to afford it, so il just get the LS3 version, unless the 500hp version is the ZL1 or something like that and the SS just has 10 more horse than the Z28 or something, then I would get the SS.
Thought some of you might enjoy this. Video for a song called "Weekend in LA" by Missing Pages. A local rock band...and I actually work @ B&N with the lead guitar player (skinny dude in a hat). From what I hear he practices 4 hours a day...
I know the dude in the costume, too. He's a local stand up comedian.
I knew he played guitar in a band, but I had no clue how good he was. I have no idea why he's still working there...I can def. imagine this song somewhere on the radio...
They filmed it on Mt. Washington and in Kennywood on New Years eve last year, or the year before. Took me a second to realize there was snow in Kennywood lol

With the absence of the LS2, it seems the L76 is filling the void, with the LS3 for more hipo applications.
We're also still a few years out, the Camaro could also receive the LSA (6.2L 580-600hp motor the new Cadillac CTS-V is rumored to receive, not the LS9, which is a 6.3L SC)

www.rockauto.com has great prices on OEM replacement Raybestos Professional blanks. That's where I got mine from for about 1/2 of what GM charges.
I just have huge doubts the Camaro will get an LS9, since in history I honestly cannot think of one instance when the top of the line Camaro and the top of the line Corvette, shared the same motor.
the LSA seems to be more of a global/mass produced motor based off the current L92 (6.2L truck motor), with a revised bottom end, and intake/supercharger design. My money is on it, as the motor, if the Camaro see's past 500hp, not the LS9

Thanks, I'll check into that. I was going to take it to the dealer, but the more I think about it they'll probably just rip me off for the same rotors that are going to warp again. The suck part is going to be paying someone to put them on, because I really don't feel like doing it...
Funny thing is, the pads apear to be hardly worn at all.
It really is a piece of cake. I bought my Raybestos rotors @ Auto SUpermarket for the SS and it was 70 a pc... so I imagine the 2.2's rotors are much cheaper. My rear rotors are 48 each.
spend the few bucks @ sears and buy the brake pad compressor and it's a snap.
