I know... that is a mean looking car.

Rumor has it that the EVO is going to come in a "ralliart" version to battle the WRX as well. Detuned motor... none of the high end bells & whistles....

I'm liking the STI alot, and now may wait a year to get a new ride.

it's actually lighter than the 2007 model, just as the WRX is 50 lbs lighter than the 2007 version.

car is shorter than the 07, and longer wheelbase.

It's light for a 5 door, plus the hatch usually gives them better weight balance, hence why I want a 5 door, not a 4 door.

What's the curb weight on the STi, did they announce yet? I didn't read through that whole thread. I know the WRX 5 door is ~3100lbs.

I've not seen exact specs, but everything I've read so far was to expect the wieght to be less than the last version. So, while my info isn't 100% current, it's been a well documented rumor, if there is such a thing..

I like the 5 door since you can haul R-comps in it now more easily.

Well, go to the local Suby dealer and check out a new Impreza 5 door and imagine it wider, lower and meaner.

I like everything about the car. Granted, I've still got 6-8 more years with my Cobalt, but if for whatever reason I had to replace it in the next few years, I definitely think the STi would be my next car.

Yeah, Cochran has them and they look NOTHING like an SUV. They're very sharp looking.

if you buy a WRX, you need to get the "sport appearance package" that gives you the body colored grill piece w/ egg crate grill and spoiler...

the chrome trim pc looks bad on the rex.

Hehehe, I'd never get just a Rex, it'd be an all-out STi or bust. LOL

But yeah, I agree. Body matched is the way to go.

I have to admit that it does look pretty good and better than the last editions.

Someone might be interested in this evo x review video.... After seeing those sti pics id pick that over the evo pretty quickly.

Gah, I want an Evo X so bad. I need to start stealing large TVs from work and selling them. Then just go to the dealer and pay with cash.

Yeah, I think I'd definitely go with the new STi over the new EVO.

For the shear cargo capacity alone, I'd get the STI.

PLUS... all that techno gizmos on the EVO are just more crap to go wrong once it's out of warranty.

Well, I really need to start test driving things in the next few weeks before the weather gets crappy.

New WRX ( just for an idea of feel for the STI ), SOlstice, Mustang.... maybe a few others...

I have no desire to buy that car. That's way too much HP for the street.

I would go for a Z06,but that would be the most I'd go for.

Official pics of the STI are FTW. Dont like the back end at all nor the fact that its a 5 door. But that front end is sweet. Anyone else notice the 8000 rpm redline on the STI? Mmmmmmmmmm......high reving power. Actually the entire interior on the STI looks really ****** nice.
