Brian, same thing happened to mine. Fuel pump went with only about 15k on the car. No reason at all. Seems to be something of a weak point. Yet another heritage from the Cavis...

lol....

The only thing that has been genetic between my 91 cav and my SS was the poor brake quality.

I have to say, once I changed the pads... I've had NO vibrations and it's been 12K miles since they were swapped.

I'm going to be ordering all new rotors, and pads in the coming weeks for the 2007 Autocross season.

SHould make up a shirt saying..." Darkhelmet.. bringing up the rear of D-stock for 2007"

You'd be surprised what seat time will do. That happened to me, for a long time I was middle to bottom of the pack and then all of a sudden I was near the top without really changing anything...you just instictively pick stuff up the further you get into it.

New exhaust FTW. Took longer than expected. Bought a grinder, which worked great but we ran out of room underneath for the grinder. So we had to go back and get a hacksaw. Then that got screwed up. So we had to go get a Dremel to finish it off. Got that off, then the two nuts on the stock exhaust were rusted on, that took a while to get off. Other than that, everything went smooth.

Tunnel vid coming soon.

I tell you what... I heard a nice Ion RL this morning on the way in...

I was coming up the pike between New Ken & Butler and while I wasn't flying, I was going quick, and the all black RL came FLYYYYYYING by me like I was standing still. I don't think I've ever seen this one ( only 2nd black RL I've seen ) before, butit sounded goooood.

I need to put some pipes on the SS......

Alicia... when did you get the hurst shifter??? I didn't know it was out.

Brian,

Exhaust sounds awesome and install of the new one went awesome once the old one was off. cutting it off was a BITCH. Ironically had we stuck with the original idea to use a dremel with a beefed up cutting blade.....would have been off in 5 minutes or less probably. And let's not forget the nuts that were rusted onto the exhaust. Those sure were fun to get off.

As for the Hurst, I've had it for a few weeks. That was a fun install too. But I love that too, really makes the shifter feel a lot sturdier.

LOL had I been patient and waited until this weekend I would have been in a heated garage with a lift and every tool and specialty tool to do anything to a GM car. But patient I am not.

Dan,

This RL was sharp looking and that car looks good in black. I have a neighbor that has a silver RL, and that is sharp as well. She keeps it stock and clean. She's rather easy on the eyes as well, but that's a different story.

Alicia, I had no idea that the Hurst was out. I'll have to take yours for a spin and see what it's like. Maybe I'll buy one for next year. I'm not going to put it in now since that would take me out of DS.

And speaking of that... yeah, I agree that the seat time will help alot. I just hope I can get my R-comps before the 1st SCR event. It will be hard to keep up with them without them.

PLUS... I plan on taking the Evo schools this year, and everyone I've talked to says that I will learn ALOT from those as well.

Man, I can't wait for Auto-X season!

Yeppers, it's out.

Evo schools are great, I just can't afford them. I'd like to go sometime when I know Sam's going to be an instructor. He's taught me a lot about my car and how to drive it. And ****, when we both ran at Central I was under 2 seconds off his time...considering he's a how many time national champ? I would have been happy with 3 seconds off his time.

Yeah, I have the 1st class arleady budgeted in for the season's cost. I might just do the 1st one this year, but if work goes well, maybe both.

I need to get my $$ setup to finance the season. Brakes, 2 sets of wheels & tires, maybe exhuast, Sway bar....

LOL I'm declaring this year a rebuilding year. I can't afford to replace the R-Comps just yet and I can't afford to auto-x the Neros.

I'm trying to get debt paid off while I still have a job. My better paying job is only temporary, so that's a bummer there. If that becomes full-time though I can manage a little better.

Oh... so no Auto-X this year??? Darnit!

This is going to be a big year for me Auto-xing. I'm going to do it as often as I can.

MAYBE next year, I might go into STX so I can have some fun with the car on the street... like strut bars, better brakes, CAI, etc... and then I won't be using r-comps.

Anyway.......

Since I have no life outside of work, this shouldn't be a problem.

I'm not going to totally be out of it, but with me relying on temp/contract jobs for income right now.....yeah, prospects aren't good. I want to reduce debt by a ton and actually get some money saved up.

I actually want to run some more events in Central rather than here. I miss my friends up there plus I'm probably going to run SM this year, and that region is MUCH better for that class. It's not like NP or SCR where I'm overpowered from the start. Only problem is I have to catch Josh, LOL.
