Well, they're street tires, but I'm using them for auto-x since I'm moving into the STU class this season (a street tire class), where I will most likely get dominated by STi's and Evo's. lol. If there's a few week break in between events, I'll swap the stock 18's back on.

The tires are Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1's, one of the new autocross tires to compete with the Bridgestone RE-01R and Yokohama Advan Neova. I'm still breaking them in and haven't even pushed them even remotely hard yet, but these tires have been doing quite well over on the west coast events so far

I'm not. I want to try and get at least a season and a half out of the auto-x tires this time. They're a slightly harder treadwear than the 01R's, 200 vs. 140, so maybe they'll last a little longer.

Funny quote, but not entirely correct. The engine is had.....just in many many pieces and/or with several holes in it.

IMO he and the mad scientist are going to have to rip apart the block.

Thanks Brian! Yeah, they have a similar finish/color to the Cobalt SS wheels, just these are a little brighter and more chrome looking I think.

I got my new Hawk HPS pads in today... buying the rotors this weekend and putting them all on next weekend...

Should be all I need for the 1st event. I'm not running NEW Hoosiers until after the 1st one.

I am trading my car in tomorrow...

I got some parts that I no longer need... and figured I would offer them to you guys

Brand New Parts For Sale

Spec Stage 3+ Clutch & Flywheel - $1050.00

Devils Own Water/Meth Kit with case of 49/51mix (4 gal total) - $400.00

These are all brand new parts still in original package and do not include any shipping...

================================================== ========

USED PARTS

Autometer dual pilar pod (black) - $30.00

AeroForce Interceptor Scan Gauge (Cobalt SS Edition) $200.00

Aeroforce is a black face with red display... chrome

The Interceptor is capable of displaying the following parameters, two at a time, at a rate of approximately 20 times per second.

RPM
MPH
Intake Air Temperature
Mass Air Flow Sensor Frequency
Mass Air Flow Sensor (lb/min.)
Engine Coolant Temperature
Injector Pulse Width
Long Term Fuel Trim
Short Term Fuel Trim
O2 Sensor Voltage
Manifold Pressure in PSI (Boost pressure for factory turbo/supercharger applications)
Ignition Advance
Knock Retard
Engine Run Time
Battery Voltage
Transmission Temperature
Idle air Control Counts
Throttle Position Percentage
Throttle Position Voltage
Engine Load
Oil pressure
0-60 MPH Timer
1/4 Mile Time
Programmable Shift Light

The Interceptor gauge is 52mm (2 1/16") in diameter and will fit in all standard gauge pods of this size. A 5' cable is included with appropriate OBD2 connector.

A function menu is available by pushing both buttons simultaneously. One menu option allows you to enter a record mode. Once selected, the Interceptor will return to normal scan mode, but will start recording the displayed data automatically when the throttle exceeds 50% and engine load exceeds 65%. Approximately 35-40 seconds of data will be stored. Returning to the menu screen, you can choose to replay the stored data on the Interceptor display.

Another menu option offers the ability to swap the foreground and backround colors of the display (to be shown soon in the IMAGES section of this site). Using this feature, for example, the gauge with a black backround and blue characters (negative image) becomes a blue backround with black characters (positive image). Not only can this be visually appealing but beneficial in changing lighting conditions. Positive images are easier to read in bright sunlight, negative at night.

The Interceptor's scan rate can also be adjusted through a menu function.

Lastly, DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) can be accessed and cleared via menu options.

Installation is accomplished by simply plugging the supplied connector into the OBD2 port below the steering wheel and connecting a separate included wire to a switched 12v vehicle power source. Virtually plug-and-play!

================================================== ========

RageNRG, I'd have a buyer if you can get your strut bar off and it's a reasonable price. He's redoing his exhaust, but lemme know.

So I'm getting a good deal here.. My friend has a GMPD Performance exhaust on his LS.. But he wants something louder. So he said he'd sell it to me for 50 bucks. hahahaha. But it'd speed the process up if I gave him 100, and it's still a good deal. So in a few weeks I should have it in my posession. Then probably a few weeks after that, drop the 60 bucks and have it thrown on. 100 is WAY more my kind of price than 500!

Also, I want to use my stock tip with the new exhaust. Is this do-able with how it fits and stuff? I think aftermarket tips are lame, and I really like mine. I'd want it to come out just like OEM..

Why? Better yet, why? I mean the exhaust I understand, but stock tip? Pointless and stupid IMO. The GMPP tip looks a lot nicer than stock, it's easier to keep clean IMO, and it still looks OEM.

I can't speak for the stock SS tips, but the stock one on my car is on its way out. Got the car in January and the tip already looks like it's been through a war... Pretty much impossible to clean, too. I can get most of the carbon off but the tip is already pitting from the salt. Guess I'll get another stainless one from GM. The one I had is on Jackie's car now and it still looks brand-new with just some soap and water...
