I just bought an Xbox 360 this weekend. First game is NFSC. Then Gears of War. Then i dont know. Then Fable 2. I played Warcraft 3 non stop and when WOW came out i bought it at midnight on the night it came out. For the first month it was so horrible - soooo many people it was soooo slow. Then the hacks came. Then the updates. Then more hacks and still soo slow. I havent played it since. I actually think the game is still at my parents house somewhere. I dont have a computer good enough to play it anymore and i dont think it will run on my laptop. O well. 360 FTW. Although i had a PS3 in my hands but couldnt bring myself to do it.

 

WoW is a great way to kill time, and tonight is tuning night, FTW.

 

Come on Dan, atleast get the 10 day trial and give it a whirl before you start hating.

 

I'm surprised at how many everyone has now and absolutely NO ONE is buying them. PS3 is the first system in a long time, since Sega Saturn as a matter of fact, that I haven't had any desire to purchase. Sometimes I may not be interested at first, but eventually I give in. I just look at the PS3, look at the price and laugh. I played my cousins' over Christmas and it just does absolutely nothing for me. Meanwhile I can't find a damn Wii to save me and I want one in the WORST way.

 

Yay! Gives me a chance to catch up to you on WoW...only 2 levels to go.

 

It seems to be that the big attraction with the PS3 is that it is a Blue-Ray player. But you have to have an HD TV running in 1080p to make a difference. Its kind of a deal if you buy the addons (i think) so you can watch blue-ray movies through it considering blue-ray players are like 1000 alone....

 

What? You no like tuning the fast@r car? Plus I am probably going to lvl once more before then.

I would LOVE to get a 360, my roomate just got a HD TV, so the deal was he gets that and I get a 360, but I dont have the 400 right now

 

Meh. I might come out for a lil bit. I've got so much other stuff I could be doing other than tuning tonight though. I'm sneaking out of work early today, I'll see what's going on when I get home. Hahahaha, I hear ya on that. I've got a list a mile long of things I'm buying for the car plus video games I want, nay, NEED to buy. Mainly I want those B Woody sway bar links cause I think my stock ones are bad, hence the God-awful noises in the suspension and the Gravana coilovers. That's going on $1400 right there. Plus a Wii ($250) plus about $300 in games I want. Here's hoping my boss' grant goes through and my job goes full-time.

 

Test Drive Unlimited is a sweet game. Dave bought it already even though he doesn't have a 360 yet... Dan enjoys it too. The game takes place on a realistically mapped model of the island of Oahu. You earn money by winning races, delivering cars, riding hitchhikers and girls to different destinations, delivering packages, and winning online races. You buy houses and cars to build up your reputation. It's pretty sweet. The coolest part is that there is only one game mode... free roam. You can find races and events on the map while in free roam. When you're 360 is connected and you're logged onto Live, the other racers on the map in free roam are all other online players. So you can just cruise with people or even challenge them to races. If you enter a race or event, they disappear so that they can't interfere with your event (like ram you off the road). It's kind of an arcade-style racer... but it's more realistic than NFS. They have anything from old Firebirds and Camaros to Saleens and Ferraris and even sport bikes. So far, I own a Sky, 350Z, Z06, Ducati, and Kawasaki.

I also have Dead Rising, Condemned, Madden 07, and two of the Burger King games.

Condemned is old and probably not worth buying unless you're really into that kind of game. It reminds me of Resident Evil in the way that you play it... dark hallways and buildings, surprises jump out at you, etc. but it's just crackheads and criminals jumping out at you that you have to smack with a pipe or shoot with a gun if you happen to have any ammo.

Madden is ok... graphics are nice, but seem to slow down sometimes. I'd suggest waiting for 08 now that the regular season is already over.

Dead Rising is pretty sweet. I haven't played much yet... but you run around killing zombies in a mall while trying to complete "missions" and escort survivors to the security room. It's sweet because you can grab just about anything and use it as a weapon. Graphics are pretty good on it... no slow down. Controls are easy to learn and use. Blood and gore is always cool in video games.

The Burger King games are a novelty item. If you have $4 to waste and feel like racking up some funny achievements, then go for it.

Get on Xbox Live! It's well worth the $50 per year. My gamertag is PpAzZ if you get on there.

 

Ya im gonna get on Live here soon. Probably begining of Feb. Gonna have to check out Dead Rising. Sounds cool.

It was one of the races in the last area and I was trying to run from the cops and got PWNED....it was a sad day. I loved that car...

 

I haven't played NFSC in a long time. I've been sidetracked with beating GoW (which I did), TDU, and now Dead Rising.

 

Well I'm off to South Carolina to visit my brother. If you guys can remember hes the one with the truck that used to attempt to do burnouts. He graduates from basic and becomes a marine on Fri. I hope I can still whip his ass.
