Pittsburgh Crew < You
I won't be there... got too much going on this weekend.
BTW.. stopped and checked out the TC SS @ KR Chevy...
They didn't seem to eager to let me take it for a ride, since it was 1 hr from closing...
I did get to start it up and check it out though.. VERY nice sounding. They got the exhuast tuned nicely.
Told me that the Yellow is gone for 2009, so the Yellow 08 SS's should be rather scarce in time.
I'll be checking an 09 out when they get them in later on.

have a favor to ask
does anyone in the pittsburg area know of a place that i could maybe use a lift for a little while or no? i need it to install the turbo setup on my car. my initial plan was to just put it on down here and tow it up but im begining to have second thoughts about towing the car a long way..i guess you could say a piece of mind issue...if not then i guess ill just have to do it here and get over it.

Don't worry about towing. I posted in your thread. When I moved back to Pittsburgh from Texas, we towed my Cavalier on a dolly a little over 1500 miles with no problems what so ever. Come to think of it we also towed my mom's car on a full trailer (where you pull the whole car up on vs just the front on the dolly) when she moved from Ohio back to Texas. There really isn't anything to worry about, especially when you're driving almost all highway. Check the pressure in the trailer tires along the way to make sure you're not pushing things too far and it's fine. Like I said, I've got well over 3,000 miles towing cars. You'll be fine. If I were you, I'd just install everything there and tow it up.
I'm sure getting you a lift won't be a problem. We know someone. However, I really don't see needing a lift for just a downpipe. We've done just about every mod there is on these cars with nothing but jack stands.
We can get you access to a lift. But I doubt it'll be needed.
well the other day when i had it all on the car i just couldn't get the downpipe on the car. i tried bringing it down through the top of the engine (would work but its just too long it hits the ground). i tried pushing it up the way the stock dp assembly goes on and it wouldn't go. its design causes it to have to be twisted up into its primary position, and on my jackstands i just couldn't do it. they were raised to about 20"

the black frame bar you see in the first picture just doesn't like my downpipe. i disconnected the downpipes dumptube and i still couldn't get it on. the immediate bend of the turbo is whats causing the problem. its as wide as the entire gap you see just above the frame in the first picture
however i will be trying again when i go to put everything back on to come up..but i just wasn't able to get it on

Yellow w/ the Mod-red interior... very sweet...
not paying 34 though...

ultimately thats probably what will happen if a lift doesnt allow that extra bit of space. so im guessing there will be a bunch of you guys there when i come up?
also when we do put the downpipe on i picked up some high temp rtv(only rated at 650degrees-thought tturbos got way hotter than that) for the turbine outlet and also dumptube, sensor, and the rear catback hookup that needs to be put on to replace a lack of gaskets. im guessing wel have to allow some time for that to setup
