SMG Motoring tuned my LNF

I already started a thread in the LNF tech section but I thought you local guys should see this too.

I had my car dyno tuned and methanol injection installed at SMG Motoring in Hopedale MA. Fred was a great guy to work with and did an excellent job with the car. I would highly recommend him.

here's the thread with the dyno results and pictures

that powdercoating includes the media blasting.... see how long another places lasts when they coat right over your stock chipping gunmetal finish

and the tint is done the right way, guarenteed for life with the black vinyl stripe over the dot matrix, if this is just "tinted over" then it will bubble up after a short while resulting in a very unattractive finish

When a tuner unlocks the PCM with is cable, that is the only cable your car is licensed for.

They didn't 'bone' you.

You shoulda went back to the tuner who tuned you first instead of re-licensing your PCM like an asshat

Ya unfortunately they HP Tuners credits are something everyone has to deal with. But, the credits are only good for that ONE interface, so when going to a different tuner or different shop with a different interface you would definitely have to pay again.

As far as our tuning prices.... our TUNES ALONE range from the $200-$225. The remaining costs of our tunes include the $100 for HP Tuners credits and $125 is for one full hour of dyno time with Air Fuel monitor. That way you get a print out of what we gained etc.... so all in all our tune prices are right inline with everyone elses, and you end up with a complete custom tune for your car in one day, without having to go back and forth with a PDA etc.

As far as the tint and coatings, we back our work 100%. Our tint is gauranteed for the life of the vehicle and is done with some of the highest quality film in the industry.

Also, keep in mind that our powder coating costs include dis-mount and mount of tires and a rebalance after everything is complete, media blasting and the powder coating itself.

I get all 4 of my 18s media blasted and coated and cleared for 100 for ALL 4. 25$ a pop. 125 is a HUGE rip. they just think too highly of their services obviously , or maybe they know some secrect powdercoating voodooo magic ! Naw but forreal , POWDErcoating aint hard and I can get a new tranny installed for 500$ so why would I pay 500 for PAINTING wheels..... thats so silly. now if it was like some special paint maybe , but I am pretty sure you aint getting candy paint or nothing on some rims for a cobalt.

asshat, so you have never shopped around. you just go with one person one tool one company and never see what else is out there. thats pretty dumb, but thats cool, you can pay too much and get inferior products all you want

I worked at Sears Auto Center and we charged $10 to dismount tires, unless you were buying new ones then it was included in the price of the balance. It's still labor either way, no one works for free.

Wink

if you want quality sh*t you have to pay. If you want to pay rockbottom prices dont be upset when your wheels chip or your motor blows up because you had joe shmoe tune it. I even saw a HO Quad4 lurking at Outlaw last time we had a meet (most of you probably dont even know what that is), and a few cavis, so i think SMG knows GM 4 cyl tuners.
