wheel cleaners

Can anybody recommend a kick ass wheel cleaner? I live in the snow belt and the brake dust that I accumulated over the winter has stained my wheels big time. We don't have the luxury of at least hosing off our cars, let alone giving them a full detail during the winter. If anybody knows of something that will get them looking like new, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure I won't get a response considering no one responds to a post that has nothing to do with pulleys, racing, or some type of mod. Plus, 90% of you people live where snow just doesn't exist. Must be nice.

This the acid that we used at the detail shop I worked at a few years ago.... This is the best stuff I've ever seen, but it will destroy wheels if not used properly. For use on chrome and polished wheels, dilute 1 to 1 with water. For painted and other wheels, 3 water to 1 acid, at the very strongest, do not use on wheel covers.

Savage Acid

Note: Make sure vehicle is completely wet down before spraying, if it mists onto a dry paint job, it will fade it, I promise.

Thanks, I'll give it a go. Better than paying for a new set of wheels. I've had this car for 6 months and the wheels look 2 yrs. old. Thanks mother nature...you bitch!!!

Probably do well just to take the damn tires off one at a time and do this?

There is this stuff that we use at work for cleaning the rubber inside a tire before we patch it, and we also use it on the inside of the rim to get rid of the caked on crap. We used it on my buddies wheels. It works wonders. It is technically a tire prep I forget the name, but it is a black and red can. I'll write down the name for you tomorrow at work.
