CAI Water Shield

I just ordered a AEM filter to do the airbox mod, for people who have had their CAI, do you use a water shield of any type? It does rain a lot around here, just wondering if it is needed in our area really. I know this has been debated a lot in the main forums, but I just wanted to see the experience of people around here in this climate in particular. Thanks.

You should be OK. I just did the AEM/box mod last week. There is about 1.5 inches between the plastic wheel well/lwr fasica closeout panel. Unless you are deep puddle hopping, you should be fine in our normal rain.

for you to suck up water, you would have to submerge your filter, and then floor it. so as long as you're not driving through a puddle that you can take a boat in, you'll be fine.

Tip: If you can row a boat in a puddle, don't attempt to drive through it.

My K&N came with one, so I use it. I noticed when I wash my filter, it keeps the big stuff off the element. That's probably all it's good for.
