I like the Porland idea. It would be a nice cruise, I don't really care though. If nobody from down that way is planning on attending we might as well keep it a little closer to home.

ok, so i have been getting a response via email from some portland fellows and my suggestion (open to some critism) is for us from up in wa should meet and cruise to the sonic burger in portland (as we have been thinking about road tripping to one!!) and then take a cruise to hood river and back. we would finally have a true cruise, we would get some AWESOME photo opps, and we can finally hit a sonic burger.

What say you all??

hells yeah! IMO if u havent ever been to a sonic, dont get your hopes up. I went to like 4 or 5 different ones in slc, utah and they were some of the shittiest food ive ever had. the drinks were good and the enviroment was fun, but the food plain sucked.

I am down with the cruise. I would recomend beaches

It is a upscale resturarnt on the columbia river where they have cruise ins on wednesday for up to 400 cars. I am sure there might be some cars there on Sun or Sat as well. Then make the cruise to Hood River on the Washington side and cross the Columbia at Bridge of the Gods. The washington road is more twisty and a real fun road to drive. I will check with them to see if there are any cars going to be there the same day we would be down if we have a definitive date. Will check with them for general information as well.
Another posibility is to post on the web sites for some of the other car clubs in the area and see if any of there members might want to show. ie excesivespeedz car club, clark county cruisers for starters.

Im thinking we can meet in stages though, we can start up here, maybe at the rest stop off of I-5 in fed way at around 830-9 and then stop in tacoma and pickup the rest of the bunch, its 2.5 hours and 150 milesish to portland...so this should put us there (at the speed limit ) between 11-12 - lunch time!!!!

Yes, and everyone go the speed limit through Centrailia/Chehalis. Those cops are always out waiting for people.

There is a place in vancouver I have been to a few times when I'm down there for work called Mcminimens (sp?) right there on the river. It has good beer and food...not too pricey. Kind of like the Ram up here.

NWAE-ok, so i have been getting a response via email from some portland fellows and my suggestion (open to some critism) is for us from up in wa should meet and cruise to the sonic burger in portland (as we have been thinking about road tripping to one!!) and then take a cruise to hood river and back. we would finally have a true cruise, we would get some AWESOME photo opps, and we can finally hit a sonic burger.

What say you all??

I say yes to the cruise - Did you get the links I sent you? The Historical Columbia Gorge Highway is a beautiful, fun cruise.

Restraunts - Sonic is cheap food, true. However, there is a huge parking lot to meet up in. Downtown Portland can be a pain to find free parking. McMinamins are all over the place down here. Good food and their own micro brews. If we do make it to Hood River, I would suggest Full Sail Brewery to eat -another great Microbrew. Give me a price range and type of food and I can suggest more.

Going home- From Hood River, you all could cross over and take the Washington side back to I-5 or we could cruise up 35 to 26 to view Mt Hood (Timberline Lodge). Then take 26 back to Troutdale to hook up with 84 to 5.

Oh, did I mention I am in for the Portland destination.

lol, thanks ghost, so the concsensos(sp?) is that we are cruising to oregon for this mo. Now the question is, where to cruise once we get there. On this I am actually going to leave it up to the oregon and south wa guys to make the decision as I have not been down there very recently and do not know the area. I will organize everyone from up here to get to portland, but if you, Ghost, can get a plan and route set up (and possibly a small map of sorts for those of us not from there :P) then we will be set. Sound good??

Sounds good. I will touch base with Yeller as well (If he is willing) or anyone else from down here ( HINT HINT) and come up wiff sumptin. How many miles and or time do you have to cruise b4 heading back?

And we need a price range for eats and drinks.

drive through the Columbia river gorge than to mt. hood/timberline(highway 35 i think?) and then back to Portland on highway 26. about a 3 1/2-4 hours of just driving. good views.

i am late for class, gtg
