Poly Mounts VS. Solid Mounts
Poly Mounts VS. Solid Mounts
I just got back from the track this weekend, Wow what a difference. With the poly mounts, I blew up my tranny earlier this year. Severe wheel hop issues.
I installed the BWoody Solid Motor and Trans Mounts and went racing this weekend.
Absolutly no wheel hop. These mount allow no engine tranny movement whats so ever. For daily drivability, the mounts are a little harsh (vibration) but im learning to just live with it. On easter I ran a 12.59
sunday, I ran 12.51 a personal best.
The poly mounts are good for daily driving but at the track you still will break from wheel hop.
Cobalt SS/SC Solid Engine Mounts (Complete Set) $260.00

I went to Woodburn Oregon this weekend. I race all over.
When I started my mods, I used a ingals torque dampner then went to poly mounts now after 1000's of dollars and two tranny's I now have solid mounts

Rained like a bitc* saturday but sunday was ok.
I run toyo T1R tires aired to 50lbs in the rear and 16lbs in the front
also I have air shocks on the back I air up to 150lbs so I have no squat. the solid mounts took 98% of my wheel hop away. I now can leave the line at 3500rpms vs. 1500rpms before
my 60 foot time went from a 2.05 to a 1.94
After several runs I think the cobalt is at it's best. What makes the cobalt fast at the track is it has the ability to make up ground at mid track. It's not a hard launching car.
If you try to make it one, you can and WILL blow up your tranny.

I did just that at 5000 miles. Car was all stock. The wheel hop killed it.
so needless to say, I won't be drag racing it ever again. I have the Nova for that.
Good runs, you have the car running well.
What mph?
