Stupid sunshine

It is a beautifull day out and I am on leave...All I want to do is go outside and work in my car but it is in Auburn. Wife took the other car shopping with the baby and I am too drugged up to go anywhere :-( . Please tell me you guys are out enjoying your cars today (or after work). Anybody have any projects going or plans to do things? I am looking up crap on E-bay for an Intercooler Reservoir and a heat exchanger.

I am going to run by Tacoma Steel on the way home and see if I can find some aluminum mesh to make a lower grill for the bumper and protect the radiator. I will be washing the car too, provided it stays sunny.

See! That is the kinda stuff I am talking about! Good stuff. Tell us what you find out. Any ideas for the 2 rear grills? I dislike the black plastic.

Well Tacoma Steel didn't have anything.....I went to Home Depot and Lowes and couldn't find anything either..

People on here were saying they bought their stuff at HomeDepot, but both of them that I went to didn't have anything close to what I wanted.

Here is what I want:

Any ideas where else I should try???

Lowes...Ace hardware...there is a whole sale metal shop just down the road from where 512 starts/stops. Austin's Pro Max and the big shcuck's might have screen as well.

Yeah, I'm going to run down to Ace right now and see if they have any...I forgot about them

Well, Ace doesn't have it either. I think I'm just going to have to order the stuff online. But, my white face gauge overlay thingys came in the mail tonight, so I did install those!

Now, I will have to replace the boost gauge tho I'm thinking about just getting a aeroforce scangauge to replace it.

I got mine at Home Depot. It is the Gutter Gaurd stuff. Click on the camera under my screen name to see the finished project. I did my upper, lower and rear grills all the same to match. The rear grills were a bitch!

I got my Heat Exchanger on a group buy. I still need to get the surge tank (Crate Engine Depot) and all the plumbing, hardware and brackets. I got my headliner done (FINALLY), I just need to finish the visors. Ity looks pretty good with black suede! Other than that, I just ordered a set of Sport Lines to drop it a bit and give her an agressive stance.

Your car is going to look tight! Lowering these cars realy helps the look and gives a more "serious" stance. Looks like the NW is going to have a bunch of trick Cobalts (and an Aveo) in a mix of colors (not just black).

I have looked at over 700 Coolant reservoirs on e-bay last nght. Still can't fnd one that will 100% work...now I know why people pay to have them custom made or buy the GM one.

I got the gauges on ebay, they were only $20. I was thinking they would be an actual overlay, but they are pretty much just stickers that go over the originals. It came out really good though, looks just as good as an overlay.

Install wasn't too bad. The hardest part was just getting the damn gauge cluster out. After that, it was easy.

06' SS2SS, I will check those out. I remember seeing some gutter guards, but they didn't look wide enough. Do you remember the size yours were that you bought??

Hey I was thinking about porting out the blower on my car. There is a how-to up now and it is a very inexpensive process. The only problem is when I worked at the machine shop I was HORRIBLE at deburr work. I was just curious to see if anyone wanted to help out with that. I wanted to port it open another quarter inch or so and have my car re-tuned. Let me know if anyone is interested!

Not so much into porting but I am thinking about getting HP tuners so I can start tuning. I really did not plan on "modding" this car so much...but if I keep going like this a tuning program is going to be a necesity. I might try to offset the cost of the system by unlocking all Cobalts and tuning other's cars.
