Just some quick pics of the new look. I am very happy. I have to make some quick adjustments to the fit and it wil be done....thinking of getting a lip spoiler.

I dunno. It looks kind of bald...but I like the debadging of the SS and the supercharge badges. Sleeper balt!

What the hell is up w/ everybody taking off their spoiler??? I won't be joining that club anytime soon. To each his own, but they look weird as hell w/out them.

I want to do a lip spoiler as well. When I first got the car I wanted to scrap the wing, but it has grown on me! I still like to see some wingless Balts. Swizz did it to his first, so I wanted to be able to distinguish mine from his. Looks good Tony!

You know..........I don't want to sound like Simon Cowell on American Idol but, I just don't like it without the wing. It's a part of the car that made it what it is. It's like taking the wing off the Superbee!!!!! It just doesn't feel right to me. My opinion only.

LOL I would not quite put the SS/SC in the same class as the Superbee. It just felt to "ricey" to me....I took the wing off the silver GTO too so I gess it is just what I prefer.

lol i wouldnt equate this to a superbee wing, we have a plastic park bench that isnt even attached very well and shakes like hell when you close the trunk, not to mention the fact that you cant see a damn thing out of the rearview mirror... not trying to be an ******* i just dont like the wing very much lol

I think the point is.................that 25 years from now the car will be considered vintage. Someone will have a totally stock 05' Cobalt SS/SC on the auction block and it will go for a lot of money. The key selling feature will be the wing that sold the car on that first year. Everyone will remember that and kick themselves. It's too bad that most of us can't afford to buy a car and realize it's true value 25 years from now. But, don't say I didn't tell you so!!!!

betterthanbad you are absolutely right. All of the PERFORMANCE SS models will go for cake 25-40 years down the road. It won't necessarily have to be totally factory either. People think it's stupid to talk about it now, of course because the car doesn't seem that significant. I've been around the older people in my family though, who got rid of their SS's when they were teenagers and are kicking themselves now. But anyway, back to the wing; the car looks like the 2.2 without it. Pretty plain I hated the 2.2... but it's all in preference so who cares really? The only thing I don't like about the spoiler is it could block out the damn sun if it was tailgating you. Other than that it looks great on the car. Good **** Tony keep modding till you can't mod any more!

There is no way to confuse an SS as a base model even if it's wing is off...

My old man said the same thing when he bought his chevette in the 70s. he figured it would be worth alot in like 30 years, but he was wrong. Very wrong. Still an awesome little car tho.
