False. Tune is not required but will help. 07+ 6pin throttle bodies will bolt directly onto the manifold. 05-06 8pin throttle bodies just need an adapter plate.

 

wow that's some ****, everyone on here told me that when I asked this same question. For the OP, sorry then for misleading information.

 

All it does is shift the power band up higher. Over the area of the HP curve you are making the same power. In a drag race type situation it's optimal because you are in peak power most often.

It does not require a retune. But a tune is always one of the last things to do on the 2.2L

 

Id much rather just bolt on a supercharger though if I'm spending more money on my 2.2. Which I hope I can do with my tax return.

 

I had an 06 LS, did full bolt ons and tune. Spent way too much doing it too.

Supercharger setup plus tune is cheaper and better and way faster.

 

I saw a supercharger set up on here for 1300. Waiting another 2 weeks for my tax return and 2 weeks of saving up to get a kit.

I prefer the 06 that is not pieced together halfway, rather then on the sides.
