Feeler: Dejon Powerhouse BPV upgrade spring
I currently have a dejon powerhouse bpv spring that I'm trying to see if I can sell or what.
It has like 40 miles on it and it truly is in tip top shape, the reason for the sale is because like most they don't like the surge. So I'm selling it because of surge. I'm still waiting on my downpipe and forge motorsports bpv before I'm ready to sell because I wanna see if it surges when I release it's back pressure. I probably will some said downpipe doesn't matter.
Anyway I'm looking to get $5.00 lol plus shipping which I think can be done USPS for like $1.50 sooo... It's a cheap part lol.
Anyway let me know

I’m sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with this product. As we state in the product description, a stiffer spring opens later but holds higher boost pressure. This may result in some compressor surge but at low boost when the turbo has already slowed down considerably. Unlike the Greddy or HKS, you cannot adjust the spring pressure on the stock valve, so we sell this spring for high boost applications where the weaker stock spring does lacks the strength to hold the valve closed. Someone posted that his stock spring held 30psi. Although this may be true in his case, you would have to bench test the valve to be sure.
Years ago we found that DSM BOV’s leaked at 20-22 psi and people “crushed” the valve to increase spring pressure. We even made a switch kit for high boost applications.
As for BOV size, bigger is not always better. You need a bigger (larger opening hole) valve as you increase the air volume in the IC tract due to a larger turbo or much higher air flow.
As with any performance part, there are tradeoffs. This spring is not for everyone, but serves a specific purpose.

Dave,
This product served me well and I am happy that I got to try it. The product is good and does exactly what you stated it would do. Unfortunately for me being a paranoid auto owner the surge just scared me too much and not understanding exactly what to expect in the future, I couldn't leave it in. I KGB'd it and they stated that low boost surge is okay. Theres been a couple of pms I sent to users of this spring and said they haven't had problems for years. A friend of mine with a wrx has been surging at low boost for around 4 years and his wrx is still strong and alive to race. The spring makes such a good sound and I loved it. The sound was similar to a BOV and honestly if it didn't surge I wouldn't be taking it out. I liked the sound and it put smiles on my face. I just thought id better be safe than take the chance. I wanna try the downpipe though because if the surge goes away im gonna keep it and just be happy with it. My forge motorsports bpv is on back order so I have a lot of time to try things.
