I have a serious question. Why is everyone buying cheap plastic replacement grills when for only a little more money you can get a billet grill?

honestly, im not a big fan of billet grilles. to me they stand out too much and take too much attention away from the car. they look ok on some cars but when you say "cheap", to me, the billet looks cheap as well. look how it gets narrow near the ends, doesnt look like they spent a whole lot of time making those. but thats just my opinion.

They narrow down like that smoothly all around because of the shape of the holes. The shape actually looks really good when you can actually look at it and doesn't stand out a whole lot. That picture is just straight on and very close (you can see my shadow there, I was only about 5' away).

And I guess the billet grill isn't that cheap, since all together it cost me over $250, not counting the install. But hell, I had the chevy plastic lower grill before and that thing cost damn near $90. So I guess the billet isn't cheap, but the chevy plastic ones are overly expensive.

*Edit*
I'm not trying to be a jackass, I was just seriously wondering why people would pay so much for the plastic grills.

I think the ss/tc grill looks much better than the billet if you ask me. Thats just my opinion sure. If you like the billet, great. If you like the ss/tc better, great. As long as you like whats on your car that is what matters.

This is sex if you ask me.

that looks awesome. I am still debating whether to put my small ss on the front or keep the larger one I got. I am likin your smaller one. If i ever do that I am going to try to fill those holes so you can't see them as much and pop a smaller one on for *****. Looks excellent man.

i dont think its so much the "plastic" as you put it, its more the style. neither is better or worse, just who likes what. take a look at each of our vbgarages, in my eyes, i have more of a sleeper concept/style, and you have more of a bling bling thing going on. not that thats bad, just different styles is all.

No. Yours is different. You can only get the top.

I wouldn't call it Bling Bling so much, since the only thing I have is the billet grill. Which, by the way, has saved my ass a couple times. Had things that would have cracked/broke through the plastic grill hit the billet one. Actually got a lil nick in it now, but you have to look to see it. But if I had the plastic one I would have had a nice chuck of metal in my radiator. Kinda why no matter what, I'll always have a lower grill insurt. There is always nasty **** on the road.

*Edit*
Ok, I do got bling bling stuff, but it is under the hood and inside the car.

lol bro do me a favor, go take your bottom billet grille off since its held on with that tape that needs to be put on the bottom and top and then u put the clips on and then u attach the grille... Now take off that tape and you will see after a while it will take away your clear coat...

???

What the heck are you talking about? There is no tape involved in the bottom grill at all. It is bolted on. I should know, I bolted it on. There are metal support braces that are bolted to the frame, then the grill is insurted and bolted to the braces. It is not actually touching the body except for that little raised lip behind the grill.
