Wanted Intercooler Pump
Intercooler Pump
I think i may need a new IC pump....My IAT1 tonight at idle was 77 degrees, with the IAT2 at 107.....only after engine running a few minutes or so, what do you guys think?? I dont see any fluid movement or bubbling either....The car has 108,xxx miles as well....If so, who has a good one for sale??
at idle your IAT2 temps can usually get 45 - 50* above ambient temps because your intake doesnt have any fresh cool (well, relatively cool. nothing is "cool" in this hot weather) air flowing past it.
my IC pump is running great, and i made my own option b tank / extra 3 quart resevoir to hold more coolant, and my IAT2 temps still get to 145ish when sitting in traffic. just the nature of the beast with water to air (or is it air to water) intercoolers.

flow through. got a cheap 8 dollar coolant resevoir from auto parts store and 2 90* elbows. i put one elbow on the top, and one on the bottom of the resevoir /tank. the top on is the outlet (hot water from the intake), and the bottom one is sucking water down to the heat exchanger to be cooled off. pretty neat, and cheap. and sounds like a mini water fall when i pop the hood lol
