Anybody selling LNF phenolic spacers ? Pwerks are out of stock and they won't be made for few months, I asked.

The PCV needs to be pressed against the head. Unless pwerks had a provision to keep it in place.

 

I believe they put phenolic spacer then pcv on phenolic spacer and lastly put on intake manifold. That could be it...

I run one of theirs on the throttle body, because when I tried to order both they only had the throttle body one. Have for 2 years

 

Me too, I have their throttle body phenolic spacer. I've spoke with pwerks about their intake manifold spacer even I bought hardware for it and they said it won't come out months. You said 2 years! Sigh...Great!

 

It's been in stock off and on the last 2 years, just never remembered to order it.

That's something I always wondered about.

 

Gotta disagree with you. Give me proof it pops out, my car runs fine and doesn't burn oil like it would without a pcv valve.

 

I am sure that Omni built it to keep the PCV in. Pwerks is a great company.

Yea, but it is a complete system that includes a modified IM.

 

That's kinda my point, when I installed it there is provisions to prevent it. Kinda sad a mod makes a comment without backing it up or providing proof.

 

Right, that make sense because Pwerks knows what they're doing. If they didn't make provisions to prevent pcv to pop out then there would have been complaints. But there's none and it had sell out, what's Pwerks waiting for ? Could be better improvement than their last version ?

Ive ran a phenolic spacer for years and have NEVER had one pop out. The hole is not large enough for it to go anywhere.

Im sure dave isnt ordering right away because theres a minimum order and from when i use to work there i knkw that minimum order is a lot of pieces. So im sure he will get more when the times right. I might have an extra laying around. Ill double check tomorrow and get back to you. You willcneed to purchase longer bolts

 

Would the phenolic spacer even be very beneficial to the LNF? I get why it works for the LSJ but since the LNF has a separate intercooler I don't see it being much help. There will be little heat transfer from the intake to the air in a LNF setup.

 

Actually it makes a huge difference.

On the lsj they do nothing. They are wedged between 2 major heat sources. The cylinder nead and a blower with heated coolant running through it. So rrally your not eliminating amythin. There for they are useless to me.

The lnf on the other hand not having a heat sorce on top of the manifold nor coolant running through it where it is beneficial. You only have the cylinder head heat to worry about. In testing i ran a 25 minute session with and without the spacer. First time woth no spacer the manifold was scolding hot and you could barely touch it. With the spacer after 25 minutes it was warm but you could rest your hand on it as well as grab the the throttle body.

Cooler air into the cylinder nead is always beneficial and virtually eliminating heat transfer from the head to manifold is beneficial as well for the ecu to see lower iats . On track high iats will cause the ecu to pull power there for making you slower

 

The air is moving so quickly through the LNF intake that there is very little heat being transferred to the incoming air due to the lack of surface area. And that is coming from some one who has built turbo cars. My IAT's in my 300ZX were never more than 5-7 degrees more than ambient until in boost even with an "awful" hot air intake. The LSJ makes sense because the intake contains the laminova and exchanger coolant, they will absorb the latent heat coming from the cylinder head. Keeping that heat out of the laminova is a good idea to reduce iat's. I really do not see this being beneficial to a LNF. And judging by what I logged in my friends SS HHR IAT1 vs IAT2's it really is not necessary.
