Hey guys, I have a 2008 Chevy Cobalt SS/TC0 (coupe). I need another ecm/ecu/pcm/computer, whatever the hell you want to call it to replace mine. Mine has previously had a trifecta tune on it and it wont let me re-tune the car with HpTuners. GM can't reflash it back to factory correctly so I need another one.

If anybody has a completely stock(untampered with) perfectly working condition ecm for my 2008 Cobalt SS/TC let me know asap and how much you want for it. Im tired of messing around with this lol.

You should be able to do a full write with a new file by HP Tuners without any issues.

 

No can't. I can read the data from the computer but wont let me gain access into it to write to the ecm. The vcm id is messed up. Instead of a number code I have nothing but "y"s. Keeps saying security access denied or attempt failed or something like that each time we try to go into it to write to it.

 

Vince shud help u with that did u email him? U have to do a reset of it, gm may have messed that up tho if they were screwing with it, there's a guy sellin one tho I will get his thread for ya

 

Also vince doesn't lock his tunes as far as I know as long as u told him u wanted to do piggy backin or doin a new tune

 

D-mac. 2010 lnf partout, he has a stock pcm

 

Op purchased the car with it like this. I am his Tuner .. well waiting on it actually as you can see. I uploaded his info with the info log and his Vin isn't.within the ecm. So I had him take it to the dealer and.reflash the.ecm fully. And the.same thing. We desperate ecms and I could read mine in his car. His issue is the actual ecm unless gm isn't flashing completly. I tried doing a full write. No luck. I got into contact with Chris, and bill. And same thing. It's a.corrupt ecm.

 

Hmm interrestin, my guess wud b gm not fully do they're work, but who knows mayb the *** who intially tunned it let the comp die or go into sleep mode n corrupted the file n ecm, best of luck guys! :-)

 

as far as I know GM has done their best to make these ECM's near impossible to get....

I gave vince my vin and said he doesn't even have any record of the car being tuned by him. But the vcm id being all "y"s means that it has had a trifecta tune on it before in the past. And even if so, I dont see how I could have him flash it back to stock. I dont have a cable or anything like that to do it.

If vince has no record then it prolly wasn't a tri-tune, byt n zzp lock theirs so it was prolly them, get on d-macs ass!!! Seems like a gd price to me on it,

 

What number are you saying has all Ys? The VIN in the ECM? The ECM serial number?

The only time I have seen all Ys for the VIN on an LNF ecm was on a new ecm that had never been programmed. I put a VIN in it and it worked fine.

 

Call these guys, offer them $125, have it shipped.
