might be a newb question, but what benefits come from an electronic exhaust cutout?

Placed before resonators/mufflers etc. you're allowing the exhaust to dump wide open, so gains from such.

you shouldnt, if thats your question...first turbo or supercharge..then get a full exhaust.. then some headwork ..then you might want to think about this for that extra .01 second off your 1/4 times

Ya why not put it on my 2.2? I could buy a catback for 200+ , or get this for 80. Its really for the sound, even with a catback. Im not going to get incredible gains with either.
