I'm not overly eager to get rid of it since it's a well done car, but also have a '01 SS Camaro 6sp w/ 40k mi so just going to drive it. Not really sure which to sell since Cobalt drives nice, has better driving position, and has quality feel over the camaro hands down, but 320hp v8 is just too much fun and if cobalt sells might supercharge the camaro Gas isn't greatest concern since I drive about 6k mi/yr.
If anyone in south or central fl is interested send your email and I'll forward pics. I've taken off all badging except the SS emblems.

Two tricks:
1) SCOUR the car ads in your paper. If someone has a can't-beat-it deal either go there or make another dealer match it.
2) you have to be willing to take what's on the lot, so search inventory online Chevy's website has a feature that lets you view the window sticker of the cars so you can see what options are on them. If you don't take delivery from dealer stock you lose the incentives.

My down payment was my trade in plus $3000 GM points, which took care of TT&L on the car plus a little off the sticker. Overall the car ended up being $16,323. Fully loaded, the only thing missing is the Recaro/LSD package, which I wanted but was more than willing to do without to get it for that price.
Mine was $20,035 with the GMS price. Also, as stated earlier, I'm not in a hurry so if no one wants it at that price it's not going to hurt me any. I'm torn which SS to sell, the '01 CamaroSS or '05CobaltSS, they both have their good points. Might put both up and see what goes first.

I doubt they'll be as generous with the '06 SS/SCs but there are probably a few dealers still looking to move out their '05s.
Now if you are counting your own personal GM card points, that doesn't really mean you got it for 16k, since that only applies to you, and you spent money to earn those points. They weren't "free" by any means of the word.
And to have a trade-in basically means you didn't get it for 16k. If I trade in a BMW M3 and get a Cobalt SS, do I say they paid me 10k to take the car? No, they paid me 10k PLUS trade in of my old car. I don't mean to be offensive, but this is FAR FROM getting the car for 16k!!!

So I don't know what you'd consider "trade-in" but I got $850 for a car that in its current condition at trade-in did not run (alternator shot, no battery, A/C system leaking). What started out as a repair trip turned into just saying "screw it" and getting the new car. So they took the value of the car ($1500) minus what the GM estimate was for fixing the car would be.
If you're talking everything included, no I didn't get just the vehicle for $16,323. I got the vehicle, the taxes, the title, the license, and the financing for $16,323. The GM points and trade-in value took care of all the additional charges.

Ok, so correct me if I'm wrong.
vehicle and TTL: $16,323.
trade in: $1,500.
GM points: $3,000.
+olds discount: ?
Total: $20,862 + whatever the olds discount was.
This is still a good deal for a new SS when including TTL, but I'm just showing that it's a far cry from 16.5k and not at all like you said:
What you meant was you can get one for just over 16k assuming you get all of:
-employee discount
-trade-in worth around a grand
-military discount (which does not apply to the majority here)
-previous olds ownership (which does not apply to the majority here)
-GM card points (which does not apply to the majority here, and especially not 3k worth)
Also "Smart Buy/Smart Lease" aren't incentives, just two types of leases you can get. They aren't a factor if you are financing (buying).
Again, I'm not trying to insult you, but you did kind of thread crap on this for sale ad and weren't even correct in what you said.
