For Sale: 2005 Ss/sc
Considering many of the members on here are either located far from me or already own one, I'm not really expecting to sell it via this site. I just thought I'd do the courteous thing and give first crack to the members of this forum. I've done the same for my kayak club/forum and the other car forums I've belonged to in the past without incident, but this is the first time my pricing has caused such a fuss. I don't want to start flaming people or make any of this personal to anyone, but I know what I (and most people) are paying. If anyone can get one for $16k brand new by all means go for it. However, if you find the retail is $21,995 and if cheapest you can get is GMS of $20,034 then you may want to consider mine. That's my pitch.

Good luck with the sale.

I think someone needs to post their invoice, in another thread.
And also lets not hi jack threads. The guy set his price he will figure it out if it's too high.

Still considering it though. You still have it available? I'm right near orlando too.

I think the price of 16K or even around that figure for a SS supercharged is misleading. The GM employee price is around $900 under invoice (approximate) and there are no rebates or standard incentives for the 05/06 Cobalt SS/SC at this time (or since release, regular Cobalts $500 max). There is not much room for a dealer to play with on any Cobalt configuration, so even if the dealer gave you the holdback youre still going to be in the 19-20K range for a "base" SS/SC Cobalt.
Other incentives (e.g. military), GM card points and trade value are particular to you and really do not reflect the general price of the vehicle. GM dealers are required to offer model incentives/rebates on their models eligible for GM Employee Pricing (and don't let them tell you otherwise, Corvette of course does not apply). No dealer is going to sell a SS/SC before trade or GM Card et al for 16K unless they are willing to take a huge loss (and eventually go out of business). Of course anything is possible at the end of the model year ;-).
Bondrey, your price is pretty fair given the mileage (and assuming its in great shape, no accidents). I would consider your offer if I was in your area.

Well, I almost sold it on here. The deal just didn't go through in time. I wound up selling it on consignment since I really needed it to go now. Thanks for the interest and thanks to Cobaltss.net for having such a great site!

thanks frank. best of luck to you too. sorry it didn't work out. turns out i wouldn't have gotten outta here anyway this weekend! my power was out from fri morn to 2pm sat. my other car couldn't make it home due to key west being underwater so a guy w/ a truck at work gave me a ride. we wound up having 86mph gusts from it and few miles up the road got 100mph gusts.
again, take care and best of luck to you.
