FOR SALE: blown LSJ crate engine or parts

...the engine had about 16k miles b4 i blew it out. the 4 cylinder has almost no compression when they tested it. (go figure, same deal with most of the blown LSJ's). anyone interested with whatever parts from the engine you need, lor maybe the the entire engine for a build project let me know, let's work something out. (from the s/c to the transmission)

For me it seems expensive. Why don't you buy a new one from crate engine depot? Or just rebuild the same one.

probably just the ringland and you just need a new piston. why are u buying a new engine? i would at least pull the head off before u drop a new one in

just went through the same thing, luckily on cylincer dmg or head dmg, so just a new piston and im good to roll

was the motor disassembled to see exact extent of the damage... I mean it could all be garbage ring land broke, could have scratch up the cylinder walls. (need new sleeve pressed in) in turn the piston would be dragging putting added stress on the rods, coulda put the rod end out of round messing up the journal on the crank which it turn could have chewed up the mains.
now I"m not trying to be a dick here, just explaining the possibilities of **** that could have gone wrong inside the motor.

you guys are crazy!!! LOL!!! i'll sell my ass $500, SHIPPED!! not this engine. i have a general idea on what an LSJ is worth and, it is one of the better american built 4-cylinder power block out there. i'm just goin buy my last offer for the engine. i knew that is sounds a lil crazy high for a blown lsj, but as you guys said if that's all that's wrong with it about the #4 cylinder, then everything else is definately worth more than $1500. but hey, i was just looking for those who are SERIOUSLY interested into making this into a rebuild project(which is sometimes a hell of a lot more fun than dealing with u'r live-in girlfriend or wifey at home)...kik me if i'm wrong. i just wanted to get a general idea on how this LSJ would go for the market, whith it's minor dieficiency. ofcourse, i welcome critcism, but i am also looking forward for a REASONABLE deal with someone who really knows what it feels like to build an engine from the ground up. wether or not i get a good deal with any1 in here, i'll be more than willing to keep this for myself, i just don't have the time right now cuz i'm currently very involved with building up my cousin's 454 for his chevelle, plus i have a brand new stg. 2 LSJ in my balt right now. So........for the SERIOUS engine building enthusiasts out on this forum, PM me and we'll work something out. thanx cobalt ss. net!!! lol

sorry dude, but as I said before I picked up a used motor in perfect condition with 8k miles on it for $1100 shipped complete setup. so really you need to drop that price a bit for something that you have no idea on the condition of. if the sleeves or rods or crank is fucked, thats a **** load of money the buyer is gonna have to spend to rebuild...

anyway, back to your thread... I"m done

I sold a working motor for $1300. It had 4k miles on it.
I think the $500 offer was generous.

You haven't opened it up yet right? While it COULD be a ring land , it could also be everything that 06blackg85ss stated .

I mean it could all be garbage ring land broke, could have scratch up the cylinder walls. (need new sleeve pressed in) in turn the piston would be dragging putting added stress on the rods, coulda put the rod end out of round messing up the journal on the crank which it turn could have chewed up the mains.

Why did you decide to drop a complete LSJ in without reusing the blower or transmission?
