Saturn Ion Redline Tranny

Have a F35 Saab transmission with intermediate shaft that is stuck. It will most likely be costly to ship since it needs to be palletized for safety.
Price -160$ + shipping. Free local Pickup
Clutch slave still feels ok, and tranny shifts pretty easily.

You can see where this kid really dicked up the seal and for some reason he tried removing the bolts from the casing and top pan( I think there are 1 or 2 maybe more bolts missing) without realizing you need a gear puller to take these apart.

If interested feel free to ask any questions pertaining to this listing.

Its been about 2-3 years of sitting in my storage.
I was quoted 150k, after I bought this from a kid that destroyed his engine.
Can't be entirely sure of model year either.

It will work.

If the Redline trans is an 04 though you will need to swap the intermediate shaft from your current trans into it. The 04 Redline used an external speed sensor on the shaft.

that would probably work in my favor anyhow.since the shaft on this one is stuck anyhow.

Updated

06cobaltracing> From what it looks like the range is 300-500$ freighter service with Liftgate service being the high end.

I think the lowest quote I got from another "select a shipper" freight ship service was 220$, No liftgate service or dock entrance.

Im going to try AAA cooper tomorrow to see what they offer

UPS freight is flat out 500, coming from my address to yours.

If you know of any other way to bring cost down im all ears... However, I will not wrap up in a plastic box or Rubbermaid tote

put it on a pallet and strap it down
Freight Shipping, Freight Companies, Freight Quotes, Freight Shipping Rates - FreightCenter.com for a quote
(i believe auto parts are 300 class)
pick a carrier.

R&L is probably going to be cheapest. I sent an entire forged 1.9 motor, axles, IM's, and assorts other car parts on a pallet from my house in FL to a forklift offload in NM for $280. Get a smaller pallet for that trans and you should be able to get it there for less than $160 easily.

this transmission wont work in any cobalt if it is an 04 edline as it has no vss machined. The bellhousing can be machined but its hardly worth it. IF its a SAAB trans the shift mechanism is completely different. and wont work on any cobalt or redline. The headline posted says redline, the fine print says SAAB and the pictures do not show the shift housings on the main case and bellhousing which on a saab are totally different. The internal grear parts are 100% interchangeable but 5th gear is a different ratio on an SAAB F35, compared to Cobalt/Redline and the shift rails are different.

just pointing this out.

I thought these f35's were all saab designed.
This one here I think is the mu3
What is so different about the shift mechanism- it is setup for cables and has the mount the saturn ion redline does 04...

I will be back on tonight to look at more shipment options- this the first time doing freight for a pallet.

This pallet is 32"x25". I would probably have to rifle through some hardware stores to find a smaller one or something

Right about external speed sensor as it has pointed out previously and now with updated pics(reluctor shown).

I would really like to see what you are referring to the shifter levers. As they seem identical to the Ion Manual tranny W/Lsj

Guys I have tried to contact a couple companies. Even with the one BlackSSstage2 recommended with hyperlink. They called me back so I did the chit chat", I even tried to tell them I can drive to a carrier that will facilitate their docking so the liftgate fee can be avoided on my end. Still getting 300$ as being the average with shipping to some of the zips provided in PM's or on this thread.

BlackSSstage2> R&L quoted me still 396$ for one shipment.

AAAcooper has quoted me for 06cobaltracing North Wilksboro for just around 300$ with liftgate servicing on each end.

Pm me for further pending sale/solutions

then dont call it a saab F35. its not. saab f35 are different.
PS your experience with shipping is similar to mine. We go to freightquote.com and can sometimes get a cheaper rate but its a struggle on a one time deal. volume shippers get good breaks.

Pensacola,fl has a AAAcooper freighter that I can bring the shipment to.

I'm able to get decent rates...below 300$ I'm sure. I have to check with your zip whoever is interested.
Some of the exclude states were michigan, a lot of the northeastern states were not covered- New Jersey and further up.

Item is still up for grabs. Hopefully someone close by could be interested.

I believe it's an 04' trans, there is no speed sensor shown and the gear is on the shaft in one of the pictures.
