What is the point of these / how are they an upgrade over stockers?

Yes, and your fwd'd email. I am really sorry I havent gotten back to you yet. Been pretty busy, havent even been on much lately. Ill get you a replay today or tomorrow

These are an upgrade because they dont "give" or allow the bushimng to deform/move like the stock ones do, this keeps your alignment accurate and wheels pointed where you tell them, they also dont require extra force to "squish" the rubber to move the arm, they let the suspension work more freely, with less binding. Binding/friction are the enemnies of Macpherson strut suspension systems.

They are an upgrade over poly ones for the same reason....poly bushings exaggerate the binding/friction problems the stock suspension has, not reduce them, poly also is very highly prone to failure in this application.

Good to know about them, thanks Maven for that info...how's the install? Fairly straight forward? Also, estimated time and any tools out of the ordinary required?

You have to remove the control arm, press out the old bushing, and press in the new one.

you need aluminum FE3 or FE5 control arms. Basic tools, plus the proper breaker bar and torque wrench to put everything back together.(the big control arm bolt goes VERY TIGHT) You need a press to install them most easily(just take the arms to a local machine shop)
