Does the flange on the exhaust go straight out? or is it on an angle? (I can't really tell from the photos) I remember reading somewhere that it has to be on an angel to fit under the hood of our cars without hitting the firewall.

The flange on the manifold comes out pretty straight. It might have a slight angle on it. You could always have a 90 degree adapter made.
