Wanted WTB: 2005 Cobalt SS SC PCM (100% Stock 205HP GM Tune)
#3
Oh no, car stays right here with me. Its about to turn 100k trouble miles.
Reason I need the stock tune is because my wife is complaining about pouring 91 octane in the tank. So I'm going to swap to the stock pulley, belt and injectors, just need to the tune to run it. I'm keeping all my GMRS3 parts, thats why I want the second PCM.
I will be selling some stuff I have laying around (Pacesetter Header, With stock bolted and catted downpipe, and the LNF exhaust) but just havent had the chance to pull them out and take some pics.

It fluctuates....anywhere from 4.29 - 4.39. It really depends what part of the city you are in and the gas station you go to. Some gas stations even have "Cash" prices which are usually $0.10 cents lower than "Credit" prices. We have 100 octane at some select Unocal 76 stations but last I remember that was about $9 a gallon...not sure how much that is now.

I pay $7.49/gal for my race gas once or twice a year.

Here I'll extract what my manual reads:
2005 Chevrolet Cobalt Owner Manual part No. 05COBALT B First Edition
Page 5-5, Gasoline Octane, 2nd paragraph
"If your vehicle has the 2.0L L4 Supercharged Engine, use premium unleaded gasoline with a posted octane of 91 or higher for best performance. You may also use middle grade or regular unleaded gasoline rated at 87 octane or higher, but your vehicle's acceleration may be slightly reduced. If the octane is less than 87, you may get a heavy knocking noise when you drive. If this occurs, use a gasoline rated at 87 octane or higher as soon as possible. Otherwise you might damage your engine"
Check your manual and see if says the same thing. This was pointed out by the dealer when I bought my cobalt off the showroom floor back in the summer of 2005.
Hope this clears up your confusion
