Alright, long story short, a friend of mine with a RL did the ol 3rd to 2nd downshift at 100mph. So after goin to the dealer its goin to cost him $4600 for "new" JY engine. They found a used engine with 3k miles on it for $3400. Does anyone know of one cheaper than that out there. CED says no items avaliable when I looked there. Thanks for your help.

 

Wow man... just read that post on the non shortbus forums.... sucks man... 2 guys around me just blew up and should be getting new engines... I'm actually trying to get my hands on the blown up ones to play with... but as far as motors... I"ve been looking myself and there's nothing around here in good shape

 

Yeah, I figured I'd post over here as well, just incase someone new of something.

 

I have a NEW 2.2 liter eco I was going to use for a Cavalier project until I traded it on my Cobalt. Everything is on it but the intake manifold.... I'm not sure if you could swap this in the 2.0's place or not. I'm just south of you in Franklin so it would be an easy transaction. The motor is brand new, never started. Do a little research and let me know if your interested, I will let it go at a good price.

 

I think you might be able to swap the ss/sc parts to it and use it.....

 

Jeff @ ImportBuilders.com had 8 LSJ engines that he could get his hands on and sell. This was about 3 months ago so I imagine he still has atleast one or two he could sell you. He is also willing to custom fab an M90 blower on the LSJ as well.
