who's got one? my dealer does'nt install stg2's per the ashole owner. so we dont have the removal tool. somebody must have one for sale.

 

i know this has been posted before but not that recently. so someone must have one or hell even be willing to rent one to me.

Does GM make a pulley puller , or do dealers buy non GM ones?

 

GM makes one but I would think it is a ton of money to get it through them. Do you think it matters whether a person uses a gm puller vs. aftermarket?

 

does it rly matter which one you use. the answer no i have used the gm puller (training) and its a good solid design and works quite well. rly a very quick puller to use. but like anything else as long as it gets the job done without damaging anything, and your not a flat rate tech then who cares. and yes the gm puller is very expensive and the soul reason that the owner of the dealership that i work for will not install stg2's becasue he did not want to spend the money for the puller. its kent moore i believe so it probably costs somewhere between $500-$1000. the owner of my dealership is a cheap *****

 

Lol , not at all , my dealership was trying to find one they could order to do pulley swaps . They said they might get it free from GM if they asked for it .

 

yeah they always give you the essential service tools but since it it gm's policy to not service eaton supercharger there is no need service that requires removing the pulley its not an essential tool so we dont luck out and just get them. although sometimes if you ask very nicely gm will give you certain non essential tools but not in my case unfortunately

 

I am not a licenced tech. I never installed stage2 before. I had the blower off in 20Mins. the whole thing was installed in less than 2 hours. now that I have done it I could get it done in almost an hour. It took the dealer longer to flash the car. that is just nuts. oh and I didnt have air tools. the puller was after market and worked well and quickly.

 

I'll prolly just rent the puller from ZZ and do it myself , i did my own stage 1 which was a breeze , so i guess ill just go that route . I'm going to do it at my dealer anyways , they want to help just to see how its done for future reference.
