Because it is as good as a 2.5" catback.

The crush bend in the back is maybe crushed down to 2.47inches unlike all the other cobalts that are crushed to under 2.25

Replace the muffler and you have a cheap better than/just as good as any aftermarket cat back

Thought the TC was the same as the SC catback minus the flange.

Interesting. Did anyone actually measure this or are you just guessing by the looks of it?

The SS/SC's production exhaust has no crush bend sections .... it is entirely mandrel bent. The crush bend section you most likely are talking about is the section of pipe that goes over the rear axle .... it necks down from 2.50" to 2.25" there, but it is still mandrel bent.

Correct, it's restricted far more than the tc, but at least it is a mandrel bend restriction.

i dont have a pic .... all i know is i have examined and measured my exhaust on my SS/SC plenty of times .... The downpipe is 2.75" O.D. , the cat back is mandrel bent 2.50" O.D. up until right before the twist beam rear axle, the over axle section is mendrel bent 2.25" O.D. to the muffler, and the tail pipe is 2.50" O.D. with a 4" exhaust tip. i don't know about the L.S. and L.T. versions, but all SS models have mandrel bent exhaust piping.
