cobalt is all stock. the protege' has and injen intake, fmic w/ custom turbo hardpiping, and greddy blow off valve. sorry for the no sound, something with the rendering went wrong.
we race to 130mph, i hit the brakes when i hit 130.

Good Kill! I like the MazdaSpeed Protege's. I wish they made more power stock though. Yeah more boost will defiantely give you a runfor the money. Definately get that race video taped though with his boost controller. I'd love to see it.

the only vehicle on the road besides them was a diesal in the emergency lane. plus would you rather them race at night when visibilty is dramatically decreased? i really dont mean to sound like a jerk, but if you have a problem with racing then you probably shouldnt watch the videos if youre just gonna call him an idiot.
good kill man, i wanna see the race when he has more boost, that should be good.

Your cars won't run 130 in the quarter so why go that fast? Mines_Better, how do you know how much traffic was on the road from a one angle camera view? NTSR_SS, how much money did you win on the race?? All of you girlies race for funsies, hell a Cobalt SS/SC could beat me if we raced for fun because I wouldn't try, ITS A WASTE OF GAS. Also there are MUCH safer ways to street race with ZERO, NO TRAFFIC and with no turns. Plus unless you guys start running 10s or faster you definently should not go to 130mph.

Coward? How about we meet halfway and race for say...$500. I'll even give you 2 cars and the move. But we will find an empty road with no traffic or turns and we will go to 100mph.. Sound good?

Wasey13 relax! You said what you had to say. Going on and on about how dangerous street racing is ****** pointless cause no one is going to listen to you.

I don't think there's a single person on this board who doesn't know that street racing is illegal/dangerous etc. , so why point it out? It was their decision..

Back on topic:

Nice kill.

Thumbs up

if he get a booost controller and pushed his PSI up around 15-17 PSI you will loose (if he was tuned properly thoe) But i would warn your friend those lil buggers will blow quite easily, they make alot of power with boost... stock is 4.5 or 6.5 PSI dont remember the internals are the problem, i was going to buy one , and i love still love them, but i was on there forums and reading posts about blow engines and such

happy modding

What do you expect, the MSP runs onlt 6.5 Psi of boost stock on the same displacement...

I wouldnt call that a fair comparison...

the mazda speed protege can't handle more than like 10-12 psi on the stock motor. my buddy had an 02 and was told not to up the boost past 12psi or he would have some serious engine trouble. so i think you're pretty safe. when my friend ran at the track at like 10-11psi, his best time was a 14.8....and he is a superb driver.

The Motor will not survive that Pressure on stock rods. The internals are weak.

Stock Mazda Piston On The Right
Olliver Rod and CP Piston On Left

I can't deny it I read his post first that said he hit 130 mph than saw the vid where there was some cars on the road. It made me think for a sec like "wasn't any need to take it up to 130" if it was a roll race what ever our forth doesn't play out till 130's anyway. But from a dig? What ever thou good kill still fun to watch the vid.

Yes but an MSP is a MAZDA, I think I have some Technical information on it seeing how it's the EXACT engine in my car.
