the 1.4 is a lil out of my price range at the moment. and after looking at the reviews and comparisons the 1.8 really isn't far behind the 1.4

ya there's a place in town here that has them for $128.99cdn which from looking around is right on par with what they are worth.

That sounds about right. I have been using mine for about 6 months and had no problems with it.

ya i've been reading good things about it. of course the 1.4 is better but for a budget lens the 1.8 should do quite nicely

For some reason I think I saw that lens on at future shop.ca for $99 cdn. You may want to look for it there too.

For sure. Just thought I'd pass on what I found. $30 is part way to getting a UV filter for it.

already got a UV and CPOL but now i'll have to go out and buy another one :S

It is the professional series of lenses. The glass that is inside the lens is different, idk how it is different but the pictures taken by it are much better than any of my other lenses.

Yeah that's the reason I didn't get the 1.4, all the reviews I read said the 1.8 is a really good alternative.

2 strobes, 2 constant, 1 hair light, 1 silver umbrella, 1 softbox, 2 white defuse umbrellas, 1 multi surface reflector.
