here is a shot i took this morning. just free hand on auto. wasn't concerned with quality, just wanted to show something odd after the water drop picture was posted.

pulled an ice tray out of the freezer this morning and two ice cube did this. there is no drips and nothing touching the tray. it's almost like the icecube expanded from the inside out after most of it was frozen already and created an ice spike. very weird.

does anyone have any tips for maximizing focus? i feel as though it's hard to ensure the best possible focus on an object both with the view finder or the screen. the view finder view and screen views are just too small to ensure the details are properly in focus. i try and take a few shots and pick the best one but there has to be a way to get a better focus. peoples shots seem so much clearer than mine sometimes.

yeah that always a tough one, you get used to it after a while and know when you are tac shape on your focus.

once you lock your focus, you dont want to move at all... lol

I personally let my camera do the focusing unless I'm trying to manipulate it to focus on something in specific that it wouldn't grab focus of.

Yeah I don't manually focus either. I let the camera do it.

So I ordered a new head for mine yesterday.

Here it is:

Hmm I've been thinking about picking something like that up to go along with my ball head. Do you have a linkage?

Sigma actually has some decent lenses. I know the new 50mm F1.4 lens I believe is suppose to be pretty sick.

Would I ever buy a sigma, Def not I am Nikon only for my gear.

Great pickup. I have the canon version of this lens and it's my favorite lens. I think next up for me is gonna be the 50 1.2 L. I have more money in photography than I did in my SS when I owned it Damn expensive hobby

That's how I feel. Tamron, sigma, and tokina all make certain nice lenses but I just want to stick to canon.

Took this shot tonight of the Downtown Fort Worth skyline. I tried to encorporate some of the astrophotography that I've been wanting to try. The line across the top is a plane and the little colored dots I believe are satellites. Feedback would be appreciated!

I wouldn't say that Tamron is bad altogether. One of my favorite go-to telephoto lenses is my Tamron SP 70-300MM F/4-5.6 Di VC USD. The vibration reduction system on that thing is second to none, even Nikon. Amazing for slow shutter speed panning . Gets used almost daily

...that being said, i'm not a fan of a bunch of their other lenses so yeah it's pretty hit or miss

i been editing my RAWs in PS with a plugin that functions similar to Lightroom.

does anyone have it? its called Camera Raw 6.5 plug-in

its cool, u can adjust your white balance by picking a certain color in the picture and it has all the adjustments u can ask for

i believe to download it you go into Help within PS and you can locate it in there.....somewhere
