hey everyone im nick i work for Hellsgate Fire Dept. in Payson, Az. the other day i had a house fire. i ride in a ladder truck and im the 3rd man on the truck. well i get toned out for a first alarm fire. so i get turned out and get ready to tag a plug. we're the first engine there on a fully engulfed 6000 sq ft. house. then the dispatcher comes over the radio and says there are reports of a 11 yr old kid trapped inside. i jump out of the truck to tag a plug and see the house and thought to myself there is no way anybody could make it in that. the truck takes off, i open the hydrant. i ran back to the truck my captain is setting up the ladder. i pull the 2 1/2 inch off to set up a monitor. get reports that the kid made it out and was fine. chief arives and tones a 2nd alarm for additional resources. its was very windy and we're getting reports that there are spots fire as far as a 1/2 mile away so we call the forest service and get them on that. finally we got the fire under control. the house was a total lose. it was a 3 story heavy timber construction home and he just got done oilling all the wood thats why it took off soo fast. well here are some cool pics.
