Take it from a "painter" it will leave glue behind after sitting in the sunshine but if this trip is done in a couple of days, all should be fine.

Never left any residue behind on my car, and mine was left out all day in 90 degree weather without movnig an inch.

The tape cam right off, and the car looked like it had just been detailed

I think you missed the part were a couple of days will be fine. Try it again leaving it in the sun for a week. Then tell me it comes right off

I actually haven't embarked on this trip just yet, give me about 40 hours.

As far as drivability, when i first bought the car I went up to Alabama ( dont' ask why) which was about 6-700 miles and not one hiccup. However, I was stock at that point and only had 1800 miles at the end of the trip. I don't anticipate any problems with this car and long trips...the recaros are comfortable, the cabin isn't too noisy and the stereo is pretty good for a stock setup. The only thing I wish it had was a hot chick in the back seat that could work those shoulders when the time was right.

I'll keep you all posted with pics and everything!

By the way, I got my first bug today!

Well the trip went off without a hitch. The cobalt loved every second of it, got an average of 32.5 mpg with ~500 lbs of crap in the trunk and backseat plus me and a buddy while running A/C. We averaged 72 mph and covered 1157 miles.

As for the tape, the rain mostly stayed away with a drizzle here and there. Tape did decide to jump ship on us but only after some spirited 120 mph sprints to "shake things up" a bit. I got some after shots today before I peeled the tape off and will upload them later.

As for the discussion on residue, yes it left a little something behind, but it isn't sticky. It looks a bit like water stains, I may gert the chance to wash her up tomorrow and will keep you all posted on the outcome.

Oh, and as for the RICE comment....COOOMMMEEE OONNNNN...Laugh a little!!!!

It was a joke. Most people know I hate the word and term "rice".

I thought it was funny.

Sorry guys, haven't uploaded the pics yet, but they're not all that exciting.

As for the residue and what not, there was some left on the car but not globs. After being on the car for a week in the Florida sun and rain, things faired pretty well. A nice wash and some Mother's Cleaner Wax cleared everything up.

Sorry NJHK, I was a bit cranky when i posted before....
