Bought our First House

sweet house. congrats. I just bought my first house a few months ago. Its amazing how the cost of living and market changes effect the prices of houses, though. My house is about the same same size, and was only $120,000 in Columbus. 200k around here gets you a really big house. Guess we're all cheapos out here, lol.
yea, if you ever let me know when the hell you're coming!
well i work right on 23, and drive to and from work that way anyways. but what's nice is that i go to work usually around 11 am, and come home around 9pm. so i miss the traffic in the morning and the night.
thanks to everyone else for the nice words!

Congrats! I hope to be buying within the next year. I absolutely cannot wait to be a homeowner.
BTW, $200k gets you an absolute MANSION here. I'm looking at good 3br/2ba 2 car garage w/yard starter homes at around $70-80k here.

if i called a realtor in my area, and told them my budget (which was higher than what we spent) they would probably laugh and hang up
here too. in the area i'm moving they're mostly around that price. where i live now, not a chance. but where i'm moving used to be a summer only area, so many of the houses are bungalows and log cabins and whatnot. but in the past 10 years or so people really started living there all year round, so they started doing things like adding heat, and air conditioning, and making it really liveable. i'd expect that in the next 10 years or so the value of these homes are really going to jump.
nice job man...ur right thats a steal in this area although its a little out in the middle of nowhere for me (my ex lives in ringwood which is a similar area)...whens the cobaltss.net house warming party?? me paul and russo will bring the beer!!
wow NJ must have high costs. My parents home is a bit over 250k value and they have 10 acres of land and a house thats nearly twice as big as this. I guess they got a deal.
Anyways, great house, it looks comfortable and welcoming. Plus it's sweet that you now have a garage.
Grats!

believe me, the area i'm moving to is extremely cheap for this end of jersey. i wouldn't be able to afford any halfway decent house if i didn't move up that way.
