its pretty obvious that your paint is far superior than the majority of black cars on the road. i still want to see how good of shape its in when you get a chance (not doubting, i honestly just have tons of respect for good work)
understand, he posted his pics on another forum, but i didn't see any close up sun shots. I'll admit though, i had a bit of an edge in my detailing... I was in charge of ordering the chemicals for the largest GM dealership in the area, and got to try whatever I wanted lol. It was nice to try these super expensive polishes and not have to pay for them personally... if only I got to keep them lol.

Gotta say man, those pics are good. You can definitely detail. Can't deny that. I think you should show me some tips lol.. how-to maybe. I got silver and I can see the spider marks in the sun. I know, I wash it too much.
OMG... when I worked there I bought Wolfgang, DP Premium, Glare, Nuvite, and 5 Star Shine. The five stare shine was the best system, but it takes a solid 4.5 hours to do, and that is just the exterior. Nuvite was awesome, but I was only able to get it one time, the supplier I used was unable to get it any longer. I have various Maguires products at home, and they work well for the stuff that anyone can buy, but don't last as long as I would like. Glare did well, but dried like concrete lol. On the lot cars we used a lot of cheapo Car Brite and Malco products, and some of those were rather surprising too.
I live relatively close

that always made me laugh when I would get a call, "hi, I have a black grabd prix, it has some scratches, but how much for a full detail?" "well, without looking at it, I can say it will cost between $125 and $275" lol. they didnt care for the brad quotes, but still wouldnt bring them in for estimates.
hmmm... dont think that I did. Have you ever used any of Adsco's products? I'm not sure if they are just in my area or not.

The ABSOLUTE BEST product that I have used is from Adsco, it is unfortunately discontinued, but was called "Dark 'n Deep". It was a gritty compound, it almost felt like 3M's cutting compound, but as you worked it in it broke down, smoothed out and sealed the paint in. This stuff took a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time to buff in though. I never did the entire car with it, it took about 2 hours to do just the hood, roof, and decklid. With this you had to work in in completely, because if you didnt it would swirl your paint like a cutter. The grit was heat activated, and I loved that stuff.
yeah.... thats why i wet sanded the entire car after i bought it, the person that owned it before me wrecked it AT LEAST twice, so the texture was different on almost every panel lol.
What type of buffing/polishing pads do you use?
Oh I'm on it.
I saw his car at cbus and it was real clean and done well. Then just a couple weeks ago ryan told me that it's different shades of black. I couldn't believe it. My paint has so many swirls in it and theres places where the paint is just bad. Not only do I want him to help but teach me more than I know. I enjoy doing this stuff. Cept the lips on my wheels hah.
