Car meets deer meets tree..
sorry just thought that was a funny question... as long as he has comprehensive coverage I can't imagine them not covering it.
I am going to see what the insurance company will offer in terms of buying it back. I am sure it will be a lot more than I would want to spend to get it. But if they do give me some reasonable, I will definitely part it out. I plan on getting another Cobalt, whether SC or TC I am not sure yet.
The engine was pushed back into the firewall, but it did not come through, I think the intake manifold was cracked, or so I was told. I didn't see any apparent damage to the blower, but that was just a visual inspection from the top. The pedals were just dangling from whatever they were mounted to, and the shifter was bent, as the tranny was pushed back. If you look at the exhaust, it is a mess. The tailpipe is pushed up against the bumper. The sunroof popped up, not totally sure what to attribute that to. The driver seat's frame seems to have been bent when my body slammed against it, as there is a gap between the seat and back of it. Overall though, I am really, really lucky to have walked away from that. I'll definitely have to send my thanks to the Chevy engineers. I am an engineering student, and that is one reason I love cars, especially my Cobalt, after seeing how it saved my life because of their thoughtful design. As I said, I walked away with some scratches and a sore back/wrist.
