At least a 5hp increase with the CAI??? https://www.cobaltss.net/gallery/fil...yno_627243.JPG Also he's auto and I'm manual so I suppose that would make more of a difference? (in a good way)
the type of transmission you have is in no way going to alter the amount of hp gained from the mod

gear ratio's don't make the engine make more power, but it does harness the power better to be faster

That's k&n though. I don't have a k&n filter I have the 1 gm gave me. I have a spectre filter as you can see in my sig below, but it was too big to fit. Turns out builletsmoke left out a second elbow tube in his how to, so I have to get another elbow tube. Then maybe I can fit the spectre filter. Would anyone know if I would get better or worse results with the spectre instead of the gmpp filter?

gmpp touring exhaust. It's not that loud from what I'm told. But that will be a while I can't afford it Plus my dad was screaming at me tonight to stop spending money on the car

Those of you claiming that its not a GMPP intake need to take the time to read, if you can. I was the very first to call it out as a gmpp when I asked him how he converted it. Then others asked the same thing, if he is claiming it is and we are noticing it, then you obviously have no clue what a gmpp intake looks like. An intake isn't just about performance either ladies and gentlemen. It does improve gas mileage, which is more then enough incentive to get it at this point.

So QUIT ripping on him for trying and not knowing about how some things work. Instead help him understand. Damn you guys need to not flame some people so bad.

CC08, great job on ths intake. It does look nice and once you get that elbow it should be even better. Get the Touring cat-back when you can. I have the sport and its louder but its not sarcasticly loud. It does improve your low end power pretty good. More power means better gas mileage. I think that touring is perfect for you if you don't want loud.

Thanks! Once I have about 800 then I'll be able to. First I gotta pay off my CC from everything else . That has a 650 limit tho so I need pocket cash for the rest. (shipping from CED and have dealer install so its on warranty)

yes, and different ratios don't make more power. as said before they "harness" the power. the post you made that had the quote about the transmission in it read as though you were asking if it would make more power in a manual application, rather than an automatic.

I can't believe this thread has gone on for so long. jesus
