yeah i learned that mistake a long time ago. i was ridding with my friend who has an old 72 silverado and we hit a bump and the exhaust falls off in the middle of the road so i jump out and pick it up.......... i held on to it so i didnt look like an idiot in front of the lady's. i did not have any prints for awhile.
i did sorta the same thing when i was working at a quick lube place a few years ago. was getting the oil filter off of a taurus and accidently turned my wrist right into the catalytic converter. but the prize goes to me doing it on the same type of car 2 days later over the existing burn now that hurts lol.
oh and don't pick up glass that has been sitting in a camp fire for about 6 hours thinking that 20 min of it being out would make it cool to the touch. i too did not have finger prints for quite some time.

I almost burned my nose last time I swapped out my DP. I only jacked the car up a little for me to slide under and unbolt it, I had just gotten home from work too. I actually brushed against the base of it once, made me slam my head back into the ground. After that, I jacked the car up a little more before continuing.
Sometimes you have to learn the hard way. I was removing my ZZP downpipe the other day and wanted to check for exhaust/downpipe leaks. Turned the car on for just a few seconds, that was enough to make it very hot to the touch. I bumped it and twitched out of the way. Did not burn me but I was like damn! That did not take long at all to get hot.
