Evo mods are crazy pricey so I will have to go slow. First plan is a nice exhaust and catted test pipe, then tune. See how that goes though. I have an itch to stay stock and just get some good tires so I can run the stock class in the SCCA AutoX this summer.

Still slow? I was making the same power on just a BNR and stock motor. Slow is a relative term anyway.

Sold the Cobalt to a local.

Do that! You'll get a great feel for the car before you mod it, plus its cheap and you can just enjoy your car for what it is a while and be competitive in your class

plus then I can beat you in the cobalt

Yeah I told everyone I was getting a MS3. I like to surprise people.

Yeah I totally agree. The only problem is that I am addicted to modding. The issue is, my wallet is addicted to being empty so I may have to anyways.

Yeah it is. What's also nice is that the brakes actually work in the rain.

Grats on new ride. Did you demod the cobalt or sell as it was?

Also can you get a tune and run stock class? How would they know?

Thx. The Cobalt had the wheels, Pedders and OTTP Hardcore Bar.

I could do that but it would be cheating and I would feel guilty for that.

A video and some pictures from this morning...

Damn bro congrats. I really want an evo mod LOL.

BTW, evo x mods, not that pricey.

If I had your car, I would do this in a heartbeat.

Yeah that's a nice turbo. I gotta take it slow though. I actually plan to keep this car. What's nice is that the aftermarket is HUGE for these things. There are like 50 different exhausts available.

Ill breK it down for ya the easiest way i know them.

VIII: small turbo, no mivec, no acd, ~3050 lbs
IX: TD05hf 50 trim turbo, mivec, acd, ~3100 lbs
X: 60 trim turbo, mivec, acd AND ayc aka SAWC, ~3400 lbs

What does all of this mean?

VIII: outdated compared to the IX and X. The only VIII thats worth a damn is JDM because they had active yaw control, so it doesnt apply to usdm.

IX: with its lighter weight than the X, larger turbo, solid 4g63, and a decent 5 speed tranny the IX is a faster out of the box, and a better modder for drag and straightline. The active center differential gives the ix an edge in the corners over the viii.

X: although heavier than its predecessors, with the active yaw control and active center differential this allows the X to be a bit quicker around the bends than the ix and the viii. The X is also light years ahead of the IX and VIII when it comes to interior and comfort.

as far as i know the ef4 is the best flowing stock frame. im pretty sure it outflows the fp black by a small amount. not 100% sure on that though

Im going to have to lookit up. I was looking at running an fp black setup but if the ef is better maybe ill do that instead. How is the ef in terms of reliability and quality? Comparative to the fp series?

Thx for the info. I guess I wasn't far off in my response.

Nice! I appreciate the offer. With AMS being so close, there is quite the Evo following. Seems like everyone is an expert!
