GF + Cobalt = PIX! 56krs' grab a coffee

As promised in RangeronDubs thread a while back. I finally got around to taking some pix of my gf and the car, with a proper camera. I dunno if its the lighting or me, but I still had some trouble focusing the shot. Anywho, heres for all you cobalt members out there; representing the black balts & brunette gfs.

P.S. Coilovers and rear sway bar will be on by end of Nov.

yea, i agree. it's because of the mixed lighting. i bet the camera was set to automatic iris, and it's seeing the bright ass outside and overcompensating by dimming the whole image. if it was pulled back a row, and didn't have the sunlight at all on it i bet they would have come out much better.

Good to know; but I'll try multiple shots and see how it comes out.

Good to know! I'll take that into consideration next time

Expect more pix soon; the coilovers will give it a new stance

sunlight a camera worst enemy? where'd you get that from? Sun isn't a camera's worst enemy. As long as you have a correct a white balance, and proper filter.

i get that from being a full time pro videographer/editor. any real photographer or videographer knows that bright sunny day is nowhere near as good as an overcast day. white balance has zero to do with it. it's washed out spots that are bad.

you can take a good picture in the sun, but you have to take it at the proper angle or it will come out like crap. but, overall, any real photographer looks forward to working on a cloudy day MUCH better than a sunny one. which is ironic because the non-professional as well as the average person think that a bright sunny day is perfect. i hear it ALL The time when working and people say "Oooohhh, i'm so excited, the sun is out and it's a perfect day!" me and the photog look at each other and wince.

i'm also talking from the perspective of the average photographer, or a person that borrows someone's camera like this situation and wants to take a decent picture.

i agree. i can deal with a sunny day but prefer a cloudy day any day. i'm not a pro though, just know from my experiences doing photoshoots.

exactly. if you have the right equipment it's possible, i'm not saying it's not. but it's not ideal. when you're talking about lower end, smaller digital cameras that don't allow you to control a whole lot of factors it will be absolute hell. i have a $10,000 video camera, loads of "aftermarket" parts for it (yea, it's not stock ) and absolutely HATE working in the sun. One of the most common FAQ's be people i work with is "why are we going in the shade, it's so sunny out"

this is why many movies that appear to have daytime shots are actually shot at night using floodlights.
