my moms pontiac G5 got rear ended a few weeks ago.

Looks ALMOST identical to your undercarriage damage, she got hit by a early 90's s10. Her trunk is gone though, they quoted her like 4k in damage.

bastard even had the nerve to bust her underglow lol.

Hey!!! That happened to me a little over a year ago only a lot worse. Like yours, mine looked like no big deal from outside, but when you opened my trunk the whole thing was raised at least a foot and the whole bottom of the car was completely f'd. Everything was replaced ($7500 later) and it was repaired well so it's like it never even happened. Just took 'em a while to do it.

Just seen your thread pics, deffinately very simular to mine, hell i was even hit by a honda LOL, except it was an accord. Your pics look simular to mine in person, mine looks not as bad in my pics, in person it looks closer to yours, not quite a bad though.

This is this poor cars second accident, was in a front end collision last year, got hit by a ford f150

My trunk got completely crushed in, forced all the way into the back seat. They fixed it, the trunk can be cut out and the weld a new one in. A 83 Buick jumped some railroad tracks and hit me while I was at a stop sign. When he landed his car went under my bumper and pushed the whole trunk forward. I wish I would have kept the pics on my computer. But the repair shop cut out the trunk, welded a new one in. Our frame rails are built to be re-straightened which also had to be done to my car.

I'm getting sick and ******* tired of seeing fellow cobalts getting screwed by the idiots that are on the road. We need to come up with some sort of mod to prevent our rear ends from getting fucked. Maybe an air bag?

If it was to be repaired in the shop I work at I would probably repair rear bumper cover (doesn't look bad) replace lower facia, looks like the damage went below reinforcement, trunk lid looks to be fine **** even the gaps look ok. Probably repair rear body panel and repair trunk floor (according to what I saw just looking quickly through pics, possible section). only thing that would be painted that you could see from outside would be rear bumper cover. let me know if I'm close

Not tryin to thread jack, but I just went through this 2 weeks ago and my car is in the shop now. If you're curious as to what you might be in for, check out my thread https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/pictures-videos-64/cobalts-look-funny-w-no-rear-end-191601/

btw, the estimate to fix my car was $5100.

Lucky you....the adjuster never even came out to see my car. I took it straight to the shop on my own and they evaluated it and sent the estimate via e-mail to my adjuster. I think I might have maybe spoken with this adjuster person on the phone once, but I could be wrong. I've talked to like 5 ppl from state farm so far about so many different things.

Last time I had to put up with the pain because I was poor, this time her insurance is paying for it so you better bet I'm takin care of my **** this time
