Is everyone else victory red this bad? took some pics tonight, light was hitting the paint just right, i mean holy **** this is bad.

i bought it used, doubt paint is covered by them in any way, its got 30k on it now

 

Yeah that's not factory paint.

 

mine looks perfect and i have 30k

 

Mileage won't cause orange peel.. lol. It's all caused from when the car was painted.

 

**** i dunno, there were no accidents reported on it or anything when i bought it last year, not sure why it would need to be repainted if its not.

If it's damaged at the dealer it doesn't go on a carfax. So say teh dealer hits it with another car while its still in their posession.. they fix it and sell it off as new, and the new owner never knows about it. They do this with vettes, even. You have to really look it over to tell, but if the peel is that bad then it has definitely been resprayed. And the bodyshop did a **** poor job, too.

For sure, GM is really consistent with thier orange peel.

 

if it wasnt reported to insurance, there wont be anything on carfax about accidents. so i might be pretty hard to tell if there was previous body work. check the door jam, see if there is any weird paint lines, take off the wheel and fender liner too, you might be able to see if there was any body work done.

 

i've been all over this car many times, i mean i have had it for 16 months. these are the first pictures i have ever taken where i have noticed it being this bad. there are no signs of the car being repainted

You are on crack I had a black Cobalt before my silver and it was orange peel city.

It is a GM thing.

wow, i have just a little but nothing that bad at all. damn man that sucks, can you do a little wet sanding on that or? sorry not much of a bodyman.

 

Man, my whole car is like that, I was getting mad about it today while installing my AMP + Subwoofers to my new headunit from the other night... Ugh, I don't want to take the car back either because it was the only 5-speed for a good price in 100 miles of my area.

 

wow i must have gotten really, really good paint. ive never seen any orange peel in any of my pictures.

 

man thats pretty bad.. maybe its cuz mine is yellow but i've never noticed any orange peel on my balt beofre.. its deff been resprayed thou and whoever did it did a **** job...

 

My black ss/sc has some of that too, maybe not quite as bad as yours but definately noticeable if you look closely.

 

most all paint jobs has it.. it takes alot of time to get a show quality paint job done wit no orange peel at all.. and to have it done you will pay out the ass for what the bodyshop has to put in it in time and work..
