JBP Vortex header

Got my JBP Vortex header installed a couple days ago. Love the tone of this thing. Sounds amazing. Definitely has more ***** down low, top end virtually unchanged.

Here's a vid

Yeah I am happy with it. The flow has increased over stock, so I don't see why people try to claim this isn't an efficient header. May not be as good as a longtube (for obvious reasons), but it dropped my boost by 1.5 LBS, which means there's definitely an increase in flow. And it also sounds way better than any longtube ever will for a Cobalt.

I don't know how anything shaped like that would have good air flow.

Sounds like an unequal length header to me. Hense the slight subie sound..

What is the rest of your exhaust setup look like? Downpipe (stock, catted, catless), catback setup.. ect ect

It's actually one of the best sounding SS/SC's I've heard to be honest with you..

Buying a header for its "sound" and low end TQ thats not useable wouldn't be the way I would go about it....but its your car.

Does sound pretty good tho.

Stock downpipe
2.5" cat-back with Flowmaster Super 44 muffler.

And yes it is an unequal tube length header.

Regardless of what your ass dyno feels or thinks, it doesn't flow better and it doesn't make more power than a proper header. This has been proven time and time again over the last 5 years. Some have even reported DECREASES in performance from the stock manifold to this one. This header has plagued the Cobalt scene ever since the first group buy / production, haha.

Oh, and if you're so concerned with increased flow, get rid of the stock downpipe for the love of god...

Did I ever say I was concerned with flow? Don't think so. Just stated that I did see an drop in boost, which you could assume would be from increased exhaust flow. And yeah, I'm on a budget, so a $150 header was a good deal for me. Downpipe is coming next. I never said it flowed better than a "PROPER" header, so I don't even see why you decided to post in here. Go troll some other thread. I got it mainly for sound. Power will be coming in the next 1-3 years. Kthanxbai

So you're on a budget, and decided to get the one header that decreased the power of the car? That just doesn't seem smart to me. I will agree, it sounds good. But I just can't spend money on something that hurts the car. Pacesetter and Badmab are pretty cheap, and are good headers.

Jesus I should have played the lottery on this from the last thread.
Ignorance plus butt dyno plus streganona the spaghetti God in header form plus lack of research = the best sounding header in the milky way. God damnit lol

Didn't I already show this doesn't hurt performance on a m62 car considering the OP mods?
