Just Thought I would post recent pics of the Cobalt SS/SC meet today (July 24) at Fortino's Parking Lot..

It was my first meet and i am surprised at the amount that showed up, and i feel bad for the LS that showed up but i think it was good everyone is welcomed i guess....

Cant wait till next time, i hope this will be the only post, but for those of you who attended not a bad turn out.

We Where all there and all of a sudden the LS just left......

 

Supprised to see only one arrival blue in that lineup, although for some reason it seems more popular on the forum than in the real world, I've seen every color but the blue on the road, mostly on my wat to work.

That would have been me...I had to meet a buddy of mine down in North York so I had to split...how much longer did you guys end up staying??

wish i could of been there wa ssuspsoe to come but had a corvette meet to go to as well and went there but next time im there for sure when is the next one?

i dont i wish im only 21 , if i had the money id buy a vette but i love my SS... my father has a 01 vette ... the show was good was up in niagra falls was not only vetts had bunch of other hot cars... well pm me and let me know incase i miss the post man

If anyone in Southern Ontario is interested in joining our chapter, then please send me a PM with your contact info (i.e. phone number, model and colour of your Cobalt). We have decided not to limit membership by model but out of 11 cars that showed up today, 10 were SS/SC's. We may focus on SS's only in the future (N/A incl.) but we haven't discussed yet.

Jonel, I will PM you to see what support is availbale from you to start our own chapter.

 

I'll try to make the trip down with my LS next time you guys get together, just means I gotta get up a little earlier in the morning to make it on time. I'd be the only silver (and prolly the only LS ) in the lineup .

I was the only LS today...seems like the other LS owners are not as enthusiastic about their cars compared to the SS owners

It was awesome though to see all those SS/SC's. I've never seen any (other than on a showroom floor) so it was interesting to see them in person....actually to see a whole load of them at once

I would assume the vast majority of people that bought the non-SS versions purchased them to get from point A to point B and leave it parked in their driveway the rest of the time. I would have been at the first meet but unfortunately I had other things come up and couldn't make it down that weekend which was disappointing but unavoidable. My biggest thing is to get from here (far north of London) to TO (depending on which side it's on and how many times I get lost ) could take me up to three hours there and three back which is a hell of a lot of driving to chill for maybe one or two before I gotta turn back around again but I'm sure it'd be worth the trip.

I think maybe once you see the aftermarket pickup for the 2.2L Ecotec you'll see more people out with their non-SS Cobalts it's just going to take a bit. Some may also feel somewhat inferior (sorry lack of a better word) hanging with a bunch of SS/SCs particularly because of the HP and cosmetic differences, but this is definitely not the case with myself. I stood in the parking lot, I looked at the LS and then the SS, did my research both into the car, insurance, etc. and made my decision. I bought the LS fully knowing what the differences were and with full intentions of modding it and it's good to see a number of us around here taking pride in what we own .

I'm really gonna try to make it to one of the meets this summer, just need to make sure to keep the weekends free as long as possible and start saving up that change to attack every Timmy's along the way .
