when he test drove the Evo, he was in 5th gear doing 30 and tried to race some econobox from a roll on that track and the econobox won...no sh*t!, you didn't downshift and the turbo didn't spool!? weird!!!

I like Top Gear, the british wit, amazing film style and awesome cars is what makes the show.

 

I don't think you understand the nature of the show. Its supposed to be funny, you are taking it too seriously. After watching a few episodes you can tell when they're being serious and when they're exaggerating things. Obviously the part about the "dog in boot" was an exaggeration to show that they thought the hatch was too small.

As for the turbo lag, that wasn't a joke. The Evo really is that bad when it comes to lag in the lower RPM's, its just got no ***** whatsoever. Without the turbo spooled, its a lost cause. Try driving a V8 (GM LS1, Ford 4.6 for example) and its got ***** at practically any RPM, punch it from 30 in 5th and its still going to be able to blow off any econobox with ease.

But the Exige is so damn sexy.... If I had a good 15 mins. alone with that car I would make sweet sweet love to it.

you should see the ariel atom sc'd...blows the lotus out of the water...300bhp in a 1000lb car...0-60 in under 3 seconds...0-100 & back to 0 in 10 seconds...
