Dude i just got that that muffler with custom 2.25 tube from the cat back installed today on my base coupe, but i made the mistake of getting the one with the shorter tip and i dont like the way that it looks. Maybe i can rework it some how to look better.

Why did you get a muffler with a 3" inlet for a 2.25" exhaust ? just curious.... I know Borla... and Im sure Magnaflow as well make plenty of 2.25" inlet mufflers...

On the looks thing... Before I ordered it I hopped under the car and measured... I thought the 4" tip lenth or whatever it would be WAY too short...

Nice muffler but it'll be hard to make it sound good with 3 in. exhaust. Too lage of piping will make a raspy sound unless you have a turbo to quiet it down. My cavalier had 3in. exhaust and a high flow cat and when I took the turbo off to sell it, it sounded terrible. You may be able to add the right respnator to help it but I have yet to hear exhaust that large sound good on a four cylinder. IMO magnaflow's 2.25" exhaust is close to having a raspy sound and any larger could get worse. Hopefully you can make it work but I thought i'd warn you.

I was thinking about running an offroad pipe and just this muffler... but I have a feeling its going to sound horrible... I may have to look around at some resonators... I dunno yet... I just got the muffler ... Ive still gotta figure out exactly how I want the exhaust set up... My biggest concern is making as much power as possible..

You could put that muffler on the stock piping for daily driving and it would sound good and then run a remote cutoff for at the track... Dunno if you really want to do that but it would work. If you did you might actually want the cutoff after the cat or after a high flow cat just to add a little backpressure.

Thumbs up

same as me i just got it welded on to stock piping w/ no resonator looks awesome but with no resonator (2000-3000rpms) can sound a lil ricey if your not flooring it but when you get a intake WOT the supercharger whine takes over anyway!

I know i dont have a ss but youll get an idea atleast lol

I got a 3" inch inlet and a 4" inch tip from magnaflow but mine is round not oval. Fits perfect in the exhaust cut out w/tip. Looks mean as hell compared to the stock exhaust.
