new interior mod (teaser pics)
well i've been planning on doing this for a while now but i hadn't really started up till lately. so i ebayed for some spare parts, bought some led's, and made sure my soldering skills were good enough to do it right. so here are some pics for you guys. enjoy.(click to enlarge)
those were with just one bulb switched out. the next ones are with 3. i just need one more and i'll be done with the hvac controls.
after i finish that last one i'm gonna do the master window switches.

only thing is most (edit: all that are stock) of the hvac controls have a blue filter to make the yellowish light look white. that's partially why i did it blue instead of white which was my first choice. the controls i ordered were from an 06 ss i think and the blue filter is behind plastic so you can't really sand it off. i also tried it on my black ones and it seems they left like clear circles and then painted the symbols on there so when i sanded off the blue filter, the black paint came off that surround the numbers and stuff.

i would'nt mind giving urs a try i just wouldn't know if it will come out as good as the blue. but then again the red on the temp control still looks pretty red. it doesn't look purple at all so maybe the blue filter will not interfere with the color too much.

its been a while since i posted on this thread, but i finally started on the master switches. i finished up the mirror adjustment control or wutever and it was easier than i thought it would be. i'll be doing the door locks next i just need to figure out how i'm going to fit an led and resistor in the tiny bit of area that the switch takes up. anyways here's pics of the switches so that you can compare before lighting and after.
ps i also sanded down the led's on the hvac control a bit and adjusted them so that the light was distributed more evenly. looks better than the above pictures to me.
anyways here are the pics.

even more visible. they're brighter. i like it. you can see on the third pic that it kinda shines on the door a little bit.
i replaced the bulb with led's. i believe the how-to is just putting a colored film over the light.
